Hi everyone!! My son is now 17.5mths and just recently he has learnt how to climb out of his cot!!! :banghead: He refuses to stay in there and now what was an easy part of the day is now the most difficult. Im just wondering what age did you transfer your child/children to the big bed? Do you think he is ready for a big bed? How do you keep them in bed??

My little girl had just learnt the same trick!!:banghead:

She will be 2 in 3 weeks, but she is loving her new big bed. If she is really tired she will stay there, but if she's not..... you get the picture!

We just keep putting her back to bed, we wear her down eventually!!!!

Hi!

Connor went into his bed at about 19 months.... coz his new little sis needed the cot.

It sounds like he is ready!!

I started Cj for his night sleeps & had to close the door. The I would go in once I knew he was asleep & put him back on his bed. It took about 3 weeks to master it. Then once that was mastered, we started day sleeps like that.

Good luck!

My dd was 16mnths but we use to put her to bed and then lay with her until she went to sleep!! She loved her bed and we only had a few times where she would come out and I would just put her back. :yelclap:

Andrew is 19 months and has gone into a bed this week. He busted the bars in his cot last week (thankfully can be glued back in place!) so we took it as a sign.

He has had 2 very successful nights in bed, though still napping in the day in the cot, which he can now climb out of very easily with the big hole in the side!

Like someone else said, I will wait until he has mastered the night sleeping for a week or so and then be more persistent in trying to get him into bed for day sleeps as well.

All you can do is try!
