I want to have another natural birth next time round (I'll probably be saying something totally different though when the time arrives) I don't want any drugs as I want to be in control of my labour, I went drug free with Hayley only because we arrived at the hospital 5 minutes before I gave birth but I want to try again with no drugs. I'm insane I know. I guess we'll see what happens though, hopefully I won't need a c/section.
Hopefully me!! I also went totally natural with DS and it was worth every bit. Although this time i'm hoping I dont tear or need an episiotomy like last time :).

Being my first timer ever, i want to try all natural, but have decided that if i really truly cant handle the pain then i am not going to try and be super woman and will have an epi if possible, i dont want gas or pethidine.. and if god forbid i need an emergency cesar then so be it.. but im definately up for all natural if i can  . I guess at the end of the day we shall see what happens on the day/night.

Depends if gas is classed as a drug or not (IMO it isn't as it isn't for pain relief). It was all I used for my first three and it's all I want this time.

It depends.
If I go into labour by myself I would like to have a crack at doing it naturally this time.

 I'm hoping to! I'm doing as much preparation as I can to give myself the best chance of having a natural birth; hypnobirthing, active birth yoga and reading, reading, reading! I've also got a fabulous doula and a wonderfully supportive husband so :fingerscrossed:

This is the best way of thinking I think! Be prepared, but also be prepared for whatever may happen! I think I have been stressing my poor doula out because I am adamant that I don't want a c/sec and she keeps telling me to expect the unexpected! As this is our first I really have no idea what to expect or how things will go but I'll do my best to go all natural!

I'm just going to push my baby out at home with my midwife in attendance, so yep, it'll be happening the natural way. :)

I am planning on a water birth next time - no pushing just breathing. See how we go. I have had 3 natural births but next one I hope is even more natural.

Cassie, you are far from insane. You just want to do what you feel is best for your baby and if you can do this then why wouldn't you. The high that cames from giving birth naturally (no drugs at all) is unequalled! I have a, lets say, chequered past, but nothing I had ever done in my life came anywhere near close to the rush of giving birth! The other point to make here, and I am sure this has been said here on Bubhub before, is why after spending 9 months skipping out on all the no-no foods, alcohol, ciggarettes, etc, etc...would you then choose to fill you babies body with drugs far more harmful than a piece of soft chesse?
:yelclap: to you for having the conviction to approach birth in this way!

:yelclap: I've never even thought of it like this and it's so true!!!!

I'll have what she's having thanks :D
I was just wondering V &M whether you consulted anyone in brisbane about hynobirthing or are just using cd's etc?. I had emergency c/section last time and would be keen on vbac and just want to try and be as prepared as possible. Ideally I'd like to consult someone and not just use info/cd's- do you have any contacts?
