Hello fellow bubhubbers!
As this is my first year as a SAHM, I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together for a Melbourne Cup day lunch somewhere? :fingerscrossed: I thought it would be fun to get a little dressed up, go out and have a couple of glasses of champagne, lunch... oh yeah and watch the race!
If a group of us are interested I would be more than happy to look into a suitable venue.
Please let me know if you are keen and I will get busy!:yelclap:
That sounds like fun but I'm on the east side in the Redlands and we're probably a bit far. Have a great time if it goes ahead! I'm sure a few mummies out there would love to glam up a bit and have a glass (or two) of champers.
Hi Faithsmum
sounds like a great Idea, count me in!

That sounds like fun... though my idea of dressing up these days is brushing my hair and pulling on clothes that are not jeans and t shirts!!
It will be my first SAHM Melbourne Cup too. I'm in Algester, but I don't mind driving. It sounds like a great idea

This is great gals! I am soo excited that you are all keen. :yelclap: I will get a couple of quotes from various restaurants/clubs/hotels and we can then decide which suits the majority best. Does anyone have a particular budget they need to keep under? Obviously I will try and keep it as inexpensive as possible, but I think most places offer 3 course meals and a glass of bubbly around $40-$50.. but I am sure i can try and find something cheaper if need be!:fingerscrossed: Just name a price and I will look into whats available and where. If anyone hears of anything they think is suitable please bring on your suggestions!

Hey Faithsmum
have you tried RaceCourse Road in Ascot? It's close to the race Tracks and heaps of coffee shops and restaurants there...? Just a suggestion..

I love Racecourse Road! Great suggestion. Need to book soon I guess tho. Anyway, any ideas of if young bubs can come along to lunch also???
Racecourse Road has a couple of "child friendly" places, eg the Coffee Club, but as Kell said, we would need to book immediately.
Hi all
Just a reminder, when you've made your decision - please keep the final location private and sent by PM only.
Cheers

 I will definitely take your suggestions for Racecourse Road on board and find out if any of the cafes along there are screening the race and if they still have spots available. Locomotion do welcome kids of any ages as it is a cafe especially designed for parents! The only thing is if we do decide to go this way I have to pay $10/head deposit for them to hold the booking, so maybe this doesn't suit anyway.
I will ring around a few places at Racecourse Rd now and let you know by this afternoon by PM whats available.
