Greenkids - what did I do wrong?!

I must have done something wrong today.

I washed my GK last night and lined dried it this morning, didnt take long, brilliant.

In fuzzibunz savannah uses one microfibre insert and it lasts 3 hrs before her next feed and change... would probably last longer if I wanted it to.. but I was a bit hesitant about using GK's for the first time so I put TWO microfibre inserts in... they fitted perfectly, I put it on savannah and within an hour.... mass leakage :S

what have I done wrong??? I didnt think it would need washing more than once as its not absorbant.. u stuff it with absorbant things and they've all been washed heaps..

please help!

It seemed to fit her 'ok' I wasnt that happy with the fit around her legs.. could this have caused it????

So far.. really disappointed with it :(

I stuff mine with a hemparoo so i dunno. Maybe putting two micro's in are making it too bulky and therefore over-stuffing :confused:

I only use a hemparoo with my GK and they are fantastic! Can't offer any advice about just using the microfibre, cause I haven't tried it that way.

Perhaps you could email Sasha. She is wonderfully helpful and may have some other tips for you!

Im having the same problem at night with my green kids. Perhaps i havent washed them enough yet? I am just sticking to the eenies for nightime at the moment.

I don't use GK's for night time either they would be too bulky if i were to boost them up. I use Fuzzi Bunz for night time use with two mirco's.

I have used my GK Anytime at night twice now with my eldest bubba (who I might add is a very heavy wetter) and have had no problems! The first night I stuffed it with a bamboo prefold (my hemparoo was not yet dried) and the mircofibre insert and last night i stuffed it with the hemparoo and microfibre insert....

Try using a hemp booster rather than a microfibre. The problem with microfibre is that it's great for soaking up the wee but once's it's full and has a compression on it, it leaks out. Try this, from bubs bottom out, liner, nappy inner, mircofibre, hemp booster, then nappy outer. Does that make sense??? When stuffing the GKs make sure the microfibre is nearest to the nappy inner. That way when bubs wees the mircofibre soaks it out and it can slowly leak into the hemp and the hemp will keep soaking up the wee from the microfibre.

I use the microfibre with no dramas but thats because i change every 3hrs & Boof doesnt drink as much as he did when he was little.
You do have to watch for compression leaks with the microfibre & being that they are still new i would think they are still getting to max absorbancy.
Otherwise stick with just a hemp insert i would suggest getting the new style when they come through as they are very trim & a great price !
I have no dramas stuffing of a nite & infact i love Boof's bubble bum when he has a hemp & microfibre hehehehe he looks adorable :D

yep I tried the 2 moe again and leaked straight away, not sure why still as works fine in fuzzis and she doesnt suddenly wee more in GKs lol

so i tried my hemp boosters, had 4 layers of hemp inthere which for DD who is a light wetter is heaps.. worked fine no leaks but so bulky on her tiny little body lol

I'm still not sure about them, I certainly dont think they're as good as fuzzi bunz and would never compete with my BB's! Will give them a few more goes and if I'm not happy... guess ill be parting with them lol

btw do any GK users also use Happy Heinys? I've got a purple HH and they're almost identical to GK's

That's so funny Charmzy. Fuzzi Bunz are by far down the bottom of my stash, they always leak for me. I have found if I am having wicking problems I just throw a terry washer folded in two in there (at the bottom), it will catch anything that leaks through the microfibre but isn't bulky at all.;)

Charmzy - Atleast you know if they don't work for you at all you'll be able to sell them off easily ;)

tickle - I use Fuzzi Bunz as a night nappy only, i think they are great for that! I just stuff them with two mirco's. A little bulky but thats okay.

This may seem really silly but when you stuff the GK's are you pushing the boosters right to the edge of the nappy and making sure they are done up tightly (but not too tight) around the legs? I wish I could pop around and see what's happening and help you out.
