I am having problems with this too especially when I roll over in bed or sneeze.

Me too, I thought it was just me! I get like a tight pinching pain when I roll over the wrong way in bed, or get up off the couch. Maybe it's my body telling me I should just lay around all day....
Kayte, the m/s will go away, sorry you're feeling so :barf: at the moment.
Kristy, I truly feel for you, sciatica sucks.

Yep hate those stretchy ouchy feelings - I roll in bed and then go "Oh no that hurt - did I do any damage?" - silly mind playing games on me I guess.

oohhh i'm getting the pinching pain if i bend the wrong way too! and today when i went to get out of my chair at work, my hip made this enormous 'cracking' sound and felt like it dislocated (but didn't).... it didn't hurt, but it scared the **** out of me!!! has anyone else had something like that happen??
my spotting seems to be easing up a lot now. today is a week since we went to the hospital with bleeding. i've just got some brown discharge every now and then, which the obstetrician told me to expect, and not to be too concerned about. i still am paranoid
and scared about bleeding again though. :(
my tummy is getting a little bigger!! i can feel it starting to str-e-e-e-e-tch, and it's quite firm. and almost free of the dreaded nausea... hurrah!!
12 weeks this friday... eee!

 May Mummies!
How are we all? Fine and dandy, I hope  !!
All is well with me... felt pretty blurk yesterday and was a bit worried my m/s was coming back, but feel OK again today. I worked out that I hadn't had much to eat - not a good move!
Am also feeling a bit stressed because my MIL in coming to stay with us for 5 WEEKS! She arrives tomorrow. Good thing I travel a fair bit with work and will be away for about 4 of them... (whoops! Did I just say that!?)
:xmas: What's everyone doing for christmas? I can't believe that this time next year we will actually have a little bubba trying to demolish the christmas tree instead of just the cat!
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooooh Marlie - I will have one of those this Christmas already - so next year we will have 2 OH NO!!!!!
Seriously considering not putting the tree up at all this year because of Harriet being the search and destroy commander that she is.

How cool - a Christmas tree to destroy! :tree: :devil6: (Betcha it's only cute the first time they do it...!)
Still in a bit of shock that this is the last christmas I will have that DOESN'T involve major drama's with car-packing and present hauling. But still, tis gunna be SOOOO nice to have a little bug around to spoil. Nawww!
Do you go nuts buying pressing for your little-un Kylie? I could imagine that it would be very tempting....

christmas... woohoo!!
we always go to my parent's place for christmas eve and do the whole traditional german christmas stuffs. christmas lunch is at the hyatt this year with DP family, and then home. so pretty quiet which will be nice... especially since next year's christmas will be ultra-busy with bubs!!

 :detective: Another German family Miss Ani?! My husband is German and I am so keen to bring in some of the more European traditions... we were over there last year in Dec and the I just loved the feel of it - much more 'traditional' and less commercial. DH's family is coming here this year, so it will be great (but a lot more fun with the baby-bug).
I love Christmas!! :tree: :xmas:

 Marlie - no I am a mean mummy - last year she got 4 muslin wraps and a sit-in baby playstation thingy (someone else in this group has their little boy sitting in the same one!) - that was all Santa brought her. We figure that she gets enough presents from everyone else we just hold back. This year will probably be the same.

We do the same here, DD has so much "stuff" and most of it we didn't even buy, we just don't see the point in making such a big deal about it. We want to make 'giving' rather than 'receiving' the emphasis in our family.
We will buy DD things, we just won't go overboard; we even waited last year until we knew what she got and got her some things from the sales.;)

my mum was born in germany, and she has maintained a lot of german traditions that she grew up with. she's even going to be called 'oma' when bub is born! :)
we usually have a light dinner at my parent's place, then we sit around and watch carols by candlelight, light the last advent candle and eat some more... and then at about 9pm we open presents. more food... and then usually we stay the night.
we also celebrate 'st nicholas' day on 6th december. we used to put our shoes out the night before, and the next morning 'st nicholas 'would have left a small present and some lollies in them.

I dont think we will put the tree up this year or for maybe the next 2 years a 2 year old an a 7 month old next year
Jack would just destroy it quicker then I could put it up.

Yep KMAM - not much difference in ages for our little ones - and since we are looking to be moving into a much smallllllllllllller house in the next couple of months the Christmas tree might be left in our storage shed for the next two years or so. Wondering if I am out of my mind moving from a lovely huge house to a teeny tiny home with another bub on the way but you know - it will be worth it in the end once we rebuild!!

Kristy - hope you are feeling better today! I had a yukky day yesterday too. Took DD to Hi-5, so had to sit in an uncomfortable chair and not eat as regularly as i should. Plus i forgot to take my other tablet half with me. DD LOVED the show though! She is stilla little too young and was a little in awe of all the bright lights to start with, but was up bopping away by the end. It was so cute to watch her.
We tried not to go overboard at christmas last year too, as we knew the family would (first grandchild on DH's side, first granddaughter for 12yrs on my side) and are trying for the same this year. But we got her a trampoline, so that was $$$, but she isn't getting much else from :xmas: . some megablocks and a few books. the rest of the over indulgance will come from the family I am sure! :reindeer:
Come on girls - you have to put the tree up!! Or at least some tacky tinsel of flashing indoor lights for the kiddies at christmas! Lucky for us the christmas tree will be in the front window & DD plays out the back room, so it is easier to keep her away from it. And she wasn't crawling last christmas - so we had it pretty easy!

I'm with you Marlie, very exciting to think we'll have our own little bug next christmas.
I haven't had a christmas tree for years, various reasons, and I love the christmas things, not OTT but having a bit of christmas spirit - I always said this year we were getting a real :tree: , no negotiation! But it looks like we might finally be moving in to our new house close to christmas so it might be a bit of a waste. We'll see though, it aint over till the fat lady sings and I'm not even warming up my throat yet
Those of you with little ones, if you've got the room, out the tree up and just surround it with one of those old wooden playpens, then you can feel like its christmas but the search and destroy bugs can't get it. Should be able to pick up a cheapie in the paper!

Bugger! I lost my dinner! :barf: It was really yummy & the first time in months that i actually enjoyed eating. I had barely put my fork down when had that nasty feeling in my tummy... Silly expensive darn Zofran is meant to stop that from happening - what a rip-off!:banghead:

i had a sickly day today as well! i woke up this morning, had breakfast and some fruit... had a shower, and then spent 10 mins staring into the toilet bowl. luckily nothing eventuated, and i managed to make it to work on time (unlike the last few weeks when i've been caught short!).
hope you're feeling better now charlis_mum!

Hey guys!
Well my cold is slowely clearing. Apparently women from 15-17 weeks usually come down with a cold as the immune is shifting rapidly with the growing bub.
Had my first clinic app yesterday, all went well.
Heart the heartbeat for the first time!! :)
BT didn't go too well though, arm is now blue and bruised and my vein is up :crying:

Glad to hear all went well Kristy... well apart from the blood test.
I am starting to feel better now, although I was sick the other day, I had a sip of coke.... and my stomache did not like it and brought up all my lunch! My cold is also easing up now which is good, so I might actually start to remember what is like to feel normal again. DP always asks me in the morning.... are you good today?? and I always say I don't remember what is like to feel good but I am better than yesterday if that means anything! I hope all is going well for everyone and have a great day!

Kristie, know how you feel about the blood test - last week when I went for my NT bloods everything was going well - didn't hurt too much but she left the needle in my arm, went to grab a swab and jarred the needles as she lent over!!!! OWWWWWWW.
Oh well the bruise is now gone and we get to see bub tomorrow at the scan.

Hello Ladies, I'm surprisingly feeling ok at the moment we just got back from a long weekend in Sydney for a friends wedding, we had a ball it was great. Ony problem is I'm exhausted.
I can't believe it's almost christmas :tree: already I'm not at all organised. We'll be having a quiet taditional christmas at home this year.
Well hope you are all feeling better now, oh yes I am now officially 12 weeks today :smiliedance: .

glad everyone is feeling a lot better (predominantly).
had my NT scan yesterday, and bub just didn't want to be in the right position!! it took about 3 1/2 hours before it was lying correctly. we got lots of photos though. :)
i have had a bleed again today though at work (where i currently still am). brownish red, not a lot but enough to scare me.... i spoke to the midwife at my obstetrician's practice and she told me to just sit tight and see what happens. it seems to be easing up which is good - no pain either which is even better. i wonder if all the poking and prodding at the NT prompted it. trying not to worry... but still am.

I keep saying I won't but I think when we get there I'll change my mind :o We get to have a 3d scan because of a family history of cleft palate, so it might be a bit harder to miss any bits that are there!

What do you think you are having?

17-11-2006, 08:39 AM
oooohhhhh now you are making me soooo excited about the 20weeks scan!! I have my next OB appt next Thu, so i should get my refferal for it then! The place he refers to has the 3D scan too - I can't wait to see this little bubba again!! I am pretty sure we are finding out if it's a boy or girl - let's hope she co-operates!! (i think it is a girl!)
I am still hardly showing at all  If I wasn't still:barf: I might think this baby was in my imagination! I was sure that second time around i'd be popping right out by now! I have some nice maternity tops that i want to wear for Chritstmas functions & i'd like to look pregnant - not just fat in them.
WeloveHarriet
17-11-2006, 08:56 AM
Tan, I know what you mean. Even with Harriet I didn't start showing until I got to 28wks - and then I only had 8 more weeks before she arrived to wear my maternity clothes!! Tony and I are laying bets that we are having another girl but we have made the decision to NOT find out. We decided that it would be so exciting to find out when the bub arrives. We will see if we weaken......

my bump has just sort of 'popped' again this weekend!! i wore some cargo pants today, and had to leave the button undone as it was too tight!! eek!

20-11-2006, 01:38 PM
I'm still not showing yet. If i wear tight clothes there's a little bit of a fat roll there, but that's about it.:p Most of my pants won't do up though. I thought being second time around i would be showing a bit earlier.

Is anyone still feeling yukky? I am STILL :barf: every morning, and am queasy all day. Every time i try to go it alone (without taking Zofran) i end up feeling worse & puking. I can't function like a normal human at all without it. I feel awful still taking medication while this far along, but i can't get through the day if i don't. I will be 17weeks tomorow - surely i have to start feeling good soon? I am sure it was heaps better than this by this stage with DD. I do feel better than i did a few months ago - but man am I over feeling like rubbish every day!! Sorry for the winge. :gloomy:

That must be awfull!! I hope you're sickness clears up soon!
It has taken a long time for the fact that I'm pregnant to actually kick in because I haven't been sick at all!! I thought everyone got sick so I thought there was something wrong when all through the 1st trimester and now into my second I have been full of energy and havn't been sick at all.
My mum threw up constantly every single day she was pregnant with me so I'm surprised at how well I'm doing.
