Hi all!!
I'm new here so this may be cheeky of me, but I am looking for input in a parenting book I am currently researching. I need the voice of
(parenting) experience!! You don't need to have umpteen years of experience,
in my opinion even those who are new at the job have valuable insights
that could be of great help to someone, so please don't discount yourself on the basis of not being a long time parent - if you're a parent I value your input so please share with me what you can!
What I need you all to do is to put your thinking caps on and share with me your best tips and advice about being a parent. Try to imagine (or remember, as the case may be ) what you would tell your child or a best friend who is about to become a parent for the first time. What advice would you give them? What is the one (or two, or ten) piece of advice you feel they absolutely MUST hear? Anything that fits the description of "What I wish someone had told me about having kids", in other words. It can be about anything to do with kids of any age, whether it be the best way (in your experience) to latch a newborn baby to the breast, the wonderful parenting philosophy taught to you by your parents which you live by,
how to cope with interrupted sleep, your best safety tip for a house with toddlers, or your best tips on dealing with teenagers, it matters not. Practical or philosophical, it's all welcome - please email me with anything you can think of at theparentguide@yahoo.co.nz or PM me.
I would like to credit everyone who contributes so if you're happy to, please include your name (first or full or just initials, whichever you're comfortable with), an approximate location (as I'm compiling input from people across the globe) and the ages of your children. If I'm able to use your input in the book I will send you a copy of the e-book when it's finished as a thank you for your contribution - so if you PM me please be sure to include your email address.
Thank you all in advance, I really appreciate any input you can give me!!!
Tara :)
