Ive tried about a billion things with the eczema Ive had during my pregnancy.
Not many of them worked for me.
Bathing in oatmeal is nice (you can buy colloidal oatmeal from Dermaveen at Payless chemists online)
Theres a cream called Hopes Relief cream you could try. Its one of those honey, calendula, etc... real stinky types :)
Also if you use a moisturiser on it, get something like Cetaphil, it doesn't have any added perfumes or anything so its good for after a bath keeping the moisture in.
If it gets bad i'd take him to the doctor and get some really mild cortisone cream.

I find with Ozzy's eczema that what works one week might all of a sudden stop working or even worse start reacting the week after.
Bathing in oats does work wonders though. I just buy the quick oats from the supermarket and put them into a stocking and tie the stocking off. Add this to the bath or use it as you would soap in the shower.;)

Hi,
my dd suffered from severe exzema when she was younger. The only thing that fised her was pure eme oil. The first two days it looked worse but then it went away. Now as soon as we see any sign of it we just put it on and its gone the next day.
I can highly recommend Dermeze Ointment. I use it twice to three times a day and it works better than any other creams I have tried on my DD who has severe atopic eczema.
Hi
My Lyla was diagnosed with having eczema about 2 months ago and i've tried everything. Recently have been trying a cream called David Hosking's hypoallergenic face and body balm and it's fab. I (http://www.hoskingspharmacy.com) won't advertise their web site here but you can just google it and you'll find the site. it's a melbourne based pharmacist who can post it to you with no postage costs. $20 for a 100g jar and they have other sizes and other products. I really recommend it as i'm really happy with it. Good luck.

ella gets eczema EVERYWHERE!!!!
we tried baby oil (doc.s recommendation) which made it worse!!
then i tried lucas's paw paw lotion it didn't make it worse but it didn't make it better either
finally it was recomended by a nurse that we try sorbolene cream (with 10% glycerine) and it worked wounders in just 2 days the eczema was almost gone:smiliedance:
we were also told not to use johnson's bath oil (even though it was the one they used in the maternity ward) so we switched to hamiltons dry skin treatment oil, i don't really know if it's made a difference or not

We use GAIA Natural Baby Skin Soothing Lotion (250ml for about $10) for my nearly 3 year old DD. She says it makes it feel better so it must really sooth the skin. :)

Dartnell's Pharmcay Eczema cream here. They are an old fashioned chemist that make the mixtures from scratch, so you can only get it from them.
They will post it - as I confirmed last week when we went away for the school holidays - and I left the cream at home! They sent me a jar in an express post bag, and it was there pronto.

I asked some advice on a forum and MEDI-honey for Eczema cream was suggested. I have used it for a week, I've also been using the hope's relief..at night and with the combination of both the inflammation has settled and less itching. I put the MEDI-honey on everytime I feel like scratching and after cooking...washing hands..etc..
I am amazed..it really works wonders. Its available at some chemists and some health food shops and its worth a hunt for it!
I also take Sulphur 6c (homeopathics) and this has helped too:thumbsup:
I have been using Dermeze Ointment as a moisturiser and it works really well for my DD. She's had eczema since she was 2 months old all over her face and body. Her face is the worst. I have tried Gaia Skin Soothing Lotion for about 4 weeks which reduces the redness but it was too drying for skin. Ended up using steroid (Betnovate on her body and Egocort on her face). Cleared up within a few days but as soon as I stopped using the steroid, a few flare ups started again. I didn't want to keep using steroid so I tried "Infant Cream - Apis Meliferra" (www.beewild.com (http://www.beewild.com)) for 4 weeks and worked better than Gaia but still drying for her skin (flaking badly) - cleared up the body but face/arms/legs were slowly getting better. Had to stop using the product as DD had a small lump on her shoulder (infection) so took her to Dr and had to go on antibiotics for 10 days. Went back on steroid as DD has become so irritable and unhappy:(. She is constantly wanting to scratch her ears and rub her eyes. I am all for natural products but found it's too slow of process and can't bear to see her suffer anymore. I have to yet to find a natural product that fully works. Will be seeing a dermatologist and hope to be able to identify her allergies and better solution to manage her condition. I have heard about homeopathy. Does this really work? Can it be combined with the use of steroids?
I am so frustrated and stressed out to the point that my eczema flared up on my neck and face (don't usually have these..only when I am really stressed:banghead:). She is my first bub and constantly worrying about her. In 5.5 mths, she's already had 2 infections (had to go on antibiotics) and back on steroids!!
I also use Dermeze Ointment for my DD. My chn recommended it when my dd was 5 months old and i love it. It cleared up her skin within a week, i think you can also get it in a bath oil.
ds#1 has got a rather bad flare up of eczema at the moment (hes 14 and has suffered on and off for years)
We have tried a few things, paw-paw cream, sorbolene with glycerine and tea tree oil all were basically useless for him, but then I got some stuff from the chemist yesterday called "Aveeno" its says its a skin moisturising lotion and a skin protctant relief for extra dry and itchy skin and contains natural colloidal oatmeal (Ok what ever that means I just read it off the bottle) Says its dermatologist tested... anyway... he says its been working great and has actually stopped the itch and he slept a whole night lastnight for the first time in 2 weeks since the outbreak..
Just thought I would share that.
