Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone used TENS in conjunction with hypnobirthing?
I did hypnobirthing classes and loved it and am about to hire a TENS machine as a backup, but am a bit concerned that if I start to use it, it'll distract me from the hypnobirthing methods. Did anyone find this?

I decided for my second pregnancy to try TENS. My view was that if I could have all the tools available to me, I could decide whether or not on the day it would help rather than thinking "what if..."

So, I ordered the TENS and tried it with the techniques for myself (as per manufacturers instructions and with the ok and discussion from my physio) before labour to see if it would benefit me.

Some of my friends found it distracted them too much from focusing on what they need to do and lead to a loss of control which they needed to work hard on regaining.

I had a tens for my sons birth, I found it uncomfortable and restricting being stuck to those little cords, and I didn't find that it helped at all. The only time I noticed a real difference was when hubby accidently turned it up full ball instead of off and almost electrocuted me! Did take my mind of the contractions when I was laughing hysterically tho lol!
