Hi Girls
I am looking for a hospital to have my bub at and to have all my ante-natal care at. I spoke to Casey hospital in SE melbourne and found that they are a low risk centre and will not give you an epidural unless it becomes an emergency. As this is my first baby i did want to have the option of an epidural there in case i could not cope with the pain. Now i am looking at going to Dandenong and i am wondering if anyone had any experiences of Dandenong, be it positive or negative. I have rang them but i am still waiting for them to get back to me and i am probably going to try and go for a tour as well.
Thanks girls for all you help.

Hi Kate,
I am having my bub at Dandenong Birth Centre Late December (Midwifes are lovely and so is the Birth Centre) I did have another thread and got some replies in realtion to the Birth Centre if you want to take a quick look at that. Thought I should let you know that before the midwifes there return your call you will need to be reffered to the hospital by one of there prefered Obs, as they offer no antenatal care its all done through Obs in conjuction with the Birth Centre.
Good Luck
Jadence

I had both of my first two babies at Dandenong and they were fantastic. I was induced due to PE with my first so gave birth in the labour ward and had such lovely midwives. My DD, I gave birth to in the birthing centre and that was even better! I couldn't fault the midwives for their care before, during and after birth. i had one hiccup with one midwife (she was rather old!) who did a bit of face/bopoby mashing when trying to get my DS to attach but I asked her to leave and instead I had a fantastic midy who was also a LC.
My third bub was born at Casey and they are really fantastic so if you only have your care there, you will be in good hands.
All the best, PM me if you want to know more details. :)
