As the title says do hospitals have cut offs when it comes to letting you try for a VBACS if you are over a certain weight/BMI

I think you will find it isn't just VBACs but all births :(

Yep, sadly it is now all births :( It will differ between hospitals, but it is usually the rural/country hospitals that have stricter policies.

City hospitals don't have the same cut offs.

My local (rural) hospital BMI cut off is 35 :(

I was very large when I had my VBAC (my BMI would have been about 35 when I fell pregnant). It was never mentioned to me that they had a cut off, but I am sure they do. I wouldn't have taken any note of it though, I just would have rocked up in labor and they have a duty of care to provide for you.

Not necessarily  I was told if I did that they would put me in an ambulance :(

I am a big girl Kacee and my BMI has me in the obese category.

I've talked to my ob about a potential VBAC and she has said there is no reason I shouldn't be able to try for one. She has never mentioned my weight or BMI in terms of the hospital not letting me birth naturally - although I do live in Sydney and I will be birthing at one of the major hospitals.

Thanks ladies it's just been worrying ne that with all I've read(on hospital websites) that my success rate for a VBAC is significantly reduced due to my weight and failur to progress with ds's labor.

I'm going to have to really work on my mindset before I even conceive number two as I really want to have a successful VBAC
