Hi guys,
We are moving house soon and I was wondering who else out there has done this with bub (7months)? Interested to know how other bub adapted to their new homes/rooms? Did you have any problems with them sleeping? Also, any tips to help the move run smoothly with bub would be great. Obviously in the past I hav'nt had to coordinate packing, cleaning, etc with naptimes and breastfeeds and solids..... should be a blast
Thanks in advance!

I've done this twice now, when DD was 4 months and 16 months. At 4 months she slept through everything. At 16 months we scheduled the move for a regular daycare day so she just came home to a new house. Her room was the first one we unpacked and set up so she had somewhere familiar right away.
There have been a few other threads on this topic where you may get some tips. Try an advanced search for moving in just the topic title (if you search within all the posts you get 300+ results). Or try this one: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=945
We moved house when ds was 3.5 months. I packed everything in boxes leading up to the move just when I had a chance. Try to be organised - label boxes well, have one of those tape dispensers for the boxes, have toys around for bub, wear comfortable clothes, and breastfeed if possible. Oh, and get your partner to do as much as possible.
Good luck :D
hi i moved 3 times in our ds first year so here are my little tips and godluck.
keep bub as close to routine as possible if packing etc stop feed ,play bath when you usually do so that they know whats going on .
take offers of help ,get friends to come and help pack or to just watch your bub with you so you can really get things done.
dont delay unpacking ,it looks like alot of work and your right it is but having boxes linger for weeks just makes the move feel more over whealming and stops your bub realy getting to know his new enviroment .
if your planning on changing a major part of your babies day like where they sleep where they eat etc , do it when you move.
some people will say no big changes but i found my sons worked better if all the change was done at once and then they could settel in to it rather than finally feel good and then bam ive changed everythig again .
relax nobody expects a supermum .
get rid of things tht your baby has out grown give to afriend havng a baby or vinnies it feels better to have afresh start.
when you have finally unpacked ,cleaned up ,put your bub to bed sit down and have nice cup of tea and some cake and welcome yourself to your new home.
dont worry if your bub is unseteld for the fist few days or weeks they will soon get use to it ,they have to !!! good luck and dont forget to redirect your mail i hate finding out ive lost stuff i needed.
love mummyb
I have moved several time with my kids (my poor dd has had 8 addresses in her 4 ½ years!) and the best tip I have, as with any age kids is to have thier room set up first with familiar things and they should settle in well.
My kids seemed to breeze through the changes and with sticking to a basic well established routine they were happy as long as thier beds, toys and parents were there.

We have lived in 3 states since my daughter was born and she only turned one two weeks ago
The first time she was 7mths old. She had a bouncer that had a rotating seat and about 10 toys around it which she loves, so we made sure that this was the last thing on and off the truck. We lived in a motel for 2 days before we moved and for 3 weeks after. We just stuck to her routine as best we could and she coped fine.
As soon as we got our new house we made sure her room was set up first and we took her sheets off her cot with us and used them while we were in the hotels as they then still had her scent on them and then when we set up her cot we knew where to find sheets without having to unpack a million boxes. We had no trouble with her settling in.
We then moved states again 2mths later and did the same thing and she coped fine with both moves.
Goodluck
