View Full Version : Not sure?
My 9 week old DD has a patch of red dry skin on her arm but she does not seem the slightest bit bothered by it. MIL insists it is eczema but DD shows no distress at all so could this be it?
MIL says she is too young to feel the pain of it but I totally disagree! The area is dry, red and quite an irregular shape. It gets redder after she has a bath
Any ideas?
Thanks for reading

It could be .. my daughter was never bothered by hers either when she was diagnosed at 3.. she wouldnt scratch at it or anything.
I dont recall her ever only having just one patch though.. but Im sure its not totally impossible.

If it just one patch and it is kind of circular it could be ringtoid excema. Both my girls have it and it doesn't seem to itch, it gets red, dry and slowly gets to about the size of a ten cent piece and then goes away until the next one pops up.
I would take her to a GP just to be sure it isn't anything worse - I originally thought DD1 had ringworm the first time it came up.

I have just found 2 dry scaley red patches on DS elbow and on his thigh??? he does not seem bothred by it but i am fretting. is it eczema??
Now DD has red patches on her face but the skin is not dry and she still is not bothered by it. It is so hard to know whether or not it is something to be concerned about.
DD had one spot of eczema on her right cheek that never ever bothered her. Nothing we tried got rid of it completely. It would be bright red and bumpy (like a little cluster of pimples almost, but no pus), then would go dry.
Recently we discovered that DD is allergic to milk. I cut milk out of my diet (bf'ing) and the eczema patch disappeared within a couple of days.
