REALLY really heavy first period after birth

DD is 1 on Friday (OMG where did the time go!?) and I have my fist period since her birth.
it is SOOOOOO heavy, im a bit worried. Im on day 4 and filling a maternity pad in 2-3 hours still.
I had complications around her birth (APH, massive PPH, retained placenta and an uterine inversion) and this is not a normal period for me (usually I i have 1 heavyish day and just spot the other 2)
Any advice?

Mine where like that and really heavy for 7 days and I've never had a period for 7 days before. They also where every 45 days to start. I've had 6 periods now and they have lightened a bit but not like they where and my cycle has gone down to every 36 days.

if your worried go see the doc just incase!

2-3 hours is pretty often to be soaking a pad and you'd wanna be sure its nothing serious.

Im sure its all good though! Ive heard alot of people have a heavy first period.

Ill see a doc tomorrow if Im still bad, Im anemic so this wont help!

My first was really really heavy also! I got it in the middle of the night and didn't realise, got up to feed DD and so much came out that it ran down my legs (sorry tmi!) it stayed like that for the whole 6 days, lots of clots too. But hardly any cramps which was a positive!

Hey Trish, did it end up being normal/ok?

This is me exactly right now... I'm having to change a super tampon hourly right now... And similar to just*ace, I had a full on 'trickle' in the shower this morning, it felt like I was peeing, and the floor was pretty full on looking. Wondering if I should worry or not. (it's been 11 months since I gave birth to my second. It wasn't like this last time. In fact the only time I've ever experienced Any thing like it was just after birth, when I had moderate blood loss.)

They arent sure if it was an early miscarriage, or just a heavy period. My next one was heavy, but not that bad.My hormones are all over the place, so it was hard to tell.
5 cycles on, and we are still TTC with no luck
