I was only told to wait a month and be sure that everything was back to normal.

Try not to stress...easier said than done, I know. There is a chance, yes, but still, just as many and more chances that things will be perfectly fine. Did you lose a tube? I only have one left, but still managed to get pregnant again and everything has been peachy keen this time around. Just be sure to keep on top of things, and insist on early scans as soon as you get your BFP to make sure that your newbie is in the right spot. I went to a scan with this one when it was too soon to even see it, just a 2mm shady spot.

Good luck, hopefully it will happen quickly for you :)

Hi there

My pregnancy before this one was ectopic and I had surgery to remove it and my left tube. Personally I waited until I got my first AF which from memory was about 4-5 weeks after the surgery. My OB told me I could TTC whenever I felt ready and for us that was ASAP (I'm 40 and didn't want to hold off)! I'm sure my levels only took about a week after the surgery to return to "normal" and luckily my body got straight back into a regular pattern of ovulating and then AF - my cycle was shorter though. I'm very thankful it only took us 6 months to conceive again and we now have a healthy little boy on board.
Good luck with everything, I know how horrible it is dealing with not only the loss of the pregnancy but also the fact surgery was involved to take away your much wanted bub.

Take care :hugs:

i am sorry for your loss. if you did not have surgery does this mean you were able to have the drug or did you miscarry naturally?

Because i was warned that the drug which name escapes me, meant that you could not try again for 4 months because of the chemicals in your body? I had to have surgery and lost my tube and was told that we could ttc once my period returned. which was about 6 weeks after.

:hugs: i am sorry that there is an increased chance it can happen again, especially in damaged tubes, but it does not actually effect your fertility. it took 5 more months for us to concieve after my ectopic so i think it took time for my body to heal and be ready. I am just about to have a baby and am amazed how much the body repairs itself and that my other tube did the job.

i hope you can fall soon

Hello

Last month I got surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy on my right side and was wondering when we could start ttc again the hospital said about 10 weeks to wait till AF comes and my level have come down .

Hi Jaynona,

:hugs: for your loss.

I had an ectopic pregnancy three weeks ago, like you they removed my tube.

I just seen the gyn specialist on Tuesday who said he would be happy for DH and I to start TTC again in February if we wanted... which would make it 10weeks from when I was operated.

He did say it can take some peoples body 6-12months to recovery from the surgery if you had surgery.. but he didnt see concerned about that stopping us TTC.

Hugs!

Hugs for your loss. As above I was told to wait till my next af. This is mainly for dating purposes there is nothing dangerous about trying before as long as you are not sore. I do think you need to give your body time to rest and heal and when af returns it is a good sign that everything is working to start again.
It took us 5 more months so on reflection it probably took my body that long to heal properly even though I felt fine. I also think it took me a bit to recover emotionally. It felt like forever and drs kept telling me to just relax it will happen. Does not feel helpful at the time but I am glad they were right :) all the best and I hope your ttc journey is not too long x

Sorry for your loss :(

I had an ectopic pregnancy just over 4 years ago. I had emergency surgery to remove my ruptured right tube (they had to cut me open, so I didn't have the keyhole surgery). I was advised to wait 6 months before trying again, but only waited 4. 11 months after my Ectopic I was pregnant with my DS. I have also then gone onto have a further 2 pregnancies (DD2 took 14mo to conceive, this pregnancy was about 10mo of unprotected sex, & leaving it up to "fate").

Good luck, hope you are on the road to recovery and have a quick TTC journey!

I had the same thing with first pregnancy. We waited 3 cycles to start trying. Sorry for your loss. It then took us a year and a half to get pregnant due to having only one Fallopian tube. But here I am holding my 2 week old bub so keep your head up even when if you start to feel down about it. You will have a bub in the end :)
