well i asked for some advice yesturday on how to go about potty training ds1 and this morning i thought i would just sit him on the potty without a nappy and let him get a feel for it well, after offering a bribe of a bowl of dry cherrios to get him to sit on it...he sat on it and actually used the potty :smiliedance:
then it took me about 10 mins to convice him to get off the potty coz he had finished and the potty wasnt a seat lol then when he did get off it he wanted to drop cheerios into his wee lol

Jessgray, that's awesome! My DD is 15months and i'm thinking she's ready to have a go at the potty, as she keeps weeing on the floor when her nappy's off! :banghead: lol!

You've inspired me to try it! Thanks.

Well can someone help me with mine?!?!?!?

DD is 22 months old.
Knows what the potty is for.
Happy to sit on it without a nappy.
Holds her poo in until she gets home, but still does it in her nappy.
Starting to get the 'shame' thing when she does it in the nappy.

WON'T DO ANYTHING IN THE DAMN POTTY!!!!

I keep thinking that if she only does it once, she'll see how it's done and we'll be all good. I've even tried the other type of potty seat thatgoes on the toilet, coz I thought that maybe she wants to go to the toilet like mummy rather than the potty, and she screamed at the suggestion.

I've been told by friends to be patient and that she'll do it in her own time, but I feel like this is getting silly.

jessgray,,,,,YAY...all it takes is one poop or wee and its like a chain reaction! Make sure potty stays nearby and in sight.

Kirst...there was a thread yesterday in the toliet training section on tips of how to potty train.

Ta. I did read that, and I think that I have tried all the tips. I was going to post there, and then thought that I'd just 'be patient'. Then I read this and got frustrated again.

Just having a bad day. Ignore me. I'll deal with it.
