View Full Version : New to the Goldie ,anyone else.
Hi there, im new to the Gold Coast. I was just wondering if anyone else is. Any suggestions of places to go with our girls, 4yrs and 12 week old. We live in the Labrador area and am keen to met any new residents or locals with kids of similar age group. :smiliedance:
Hi I live in Southport :)
Welcome to the Gold Coast. Labrador is a nice suburb to live in. The Grand (hotel in Labrador opposite the water) is a nice place for lunches/dinner, though not sure how it would be with a 12 week old. I have yet to venture back there since having my son.
The broadwater opposite australia fair has a nice park that your 4yr would probably love.
Just sent you a e-mail too.

Hi, I dont live on the Gold Coast but use to frequent that area regulary...there is a great little park in Labrador...and it has a swimming area, that is sectioned off, so it is sea water, but safe from going to far out etc...and there is also a fish & chip shop along with a Fish Market in the same area.......it is quiet a popular spot....and the food is delish....As I said not sure of the name of it though...oh, and at certain times in the day they hand feed pelicans, which would be an exciting experience for your 4yo daughter...
Hope this has helped somewhat...someone else might know what park I am talking about....

Yep Subaru mum...I just emailed OP with details of the same park...isn't it just great - I love it!!!
Also, mumtoo2, if you go to any of the local libraries they have little leaflets that list things that are on for mums and bubs - there are free exercise groups, story readings, pram pushes, and heaps more - all ages and all suburbs of the GC.
