Now that our October bubs are starting to join us, I thought it would be easier to keep track of all our new arrivals with a separate birth announcements thread :smiliedance:

Post details (and birth stories if you like!) below...

Good luck everyone, and congratulations in advance! :yelclap:

Hey Everyone! I am writing this from my hospital bed (thank god for wireless internet and laptop computers!) ARCHIE PATRICK was born at 4.48am this morning! As you know, I was having a bit of action contraction-wise over the weekend. I went to bed at 11pm last night thinking it was all a false alarm but woke up at about 1.30am with very long and painful contractions.

We got to hospital at about 2.50am and he was here in two hours!! Girls - if you want to bring on labour - forget the raspberry leaf tea and get into the bedroom!!!! It took two goes to get things moving - but no doubt, the sex did the trick!!!!

9lb11oz (4385 grams) I am thrilled to have managed it without pain relief although I did scream the place down when at one point my contractions stopped and I had to stop pushing but his head was literally "stuck" while the Dr did the episiotomy!

He is breastfeeding just fine (so far) and has a big shock of black hair - opposite to the little blond LouLou!

I am feeling very clever (if more than a little sore)! Good luck for the other babies that I know are coming later in the week!!!

Okay now that i have 2 free hands i can type my birth story
About 8pm on Sat 9th Sept my waters broke after i had gone to the toilet and the contractions were about 14mins apart. We got to hospital (after picking Trent up on the way)about 10pm and contractions were then about 7mins apart.

I didn't have any pain relief till after midnight then i had gas but it made me fel sick so at about 3:30 - 4am i got the epidural. Man was i glad for that by then. After the epi had taken effect i got a bit distressed because i (sorry if tmi) really wanted to go to toilet and get off bed but his head was visible and was pushing down on me really hard. After 45mins of pushing and a last minute episiotomy Jack was delivered safe and sound. Best thing was i still felt urges to push but didn't have the pain of myself stretching.

When my placenta was delivered 2mins later a membrane was stuck and had to be manually manipulated out by ob. I got a bruise from that but was otherwise okay.

I was so proud of myself in the fact that i didn't scream or call Trent any nasty names. I did make Trent ask my mum to leave about midnight cause i felt awkward with her there, but couldn't say itmyself. We did have her come back in as Jack was crowning though.
All in all it was a great labour and i was happy with it all and my care.

Hi Everyone

Firstly, congratulations Bec on the arrival of your little Girl, ELLA!!! That's wonderful news!!!

I have some exciting news also - Lily Ann was born a day early on Thu 28/9 at 4.28pm by emergency c/s :smiliedance: . We were all booked for the c/s on Fri 29/9 but I went into labour the day before!!! I actually posted here that morning, went out to the shops for 2hrs, met Mum for a coffee - having contractions, but as they werent that bad, I didnt think too much of it for most of the morning.

The pains got worse & more regular so I called DH to come home from work. In the meantime, I tinted my eyebrows, washed & straightened my hair, shaved my legs, finished a picture I was making for the nursery and did the final pack of my hosp bag.

About 5mins before DH got home from work my waters broke, so I knew this was it! Contractions were then getting worse & 5mins apart so I called the hosp who said come in straight away. By the time we got there at 2.30pm they were 3-4mins apart. I had some gas while waiting for my obst to come in. C/s was done at 4pm. I was apparently 8cms dilated & having strong to very strong contractions. By the time the spinal block was put in I had exp enough labour!!!

Lily was born at 4.28pm. I am soooo over the moon I went into labour & had that experience. We got home today & it's been fantastic bringing our little girl home. She is absolutely gorgeous & we are besotted (sp?). She is breast feeding so well, no problems at all.

Only downfall is due to her breech position (her little legs were straight up on either side of her head) she has a problem with her left hip & has to wear an awful splint for 6-8wks (was put on her yesterday). I was pretty upset about that, but if it will fix her hip it will be worth it & it's not forever, could be worse etc. It is more difficult bathing, dressing her & changing her nappies, but we will have to get used to it.

Anyway, that's enough from me - only have a little while before she's due for her next feed. I could rant & rave about her for hours :ecomcity: . I am loving being a Mum & am sooooo deliriously happy!!

Hope everyone else is doing well & that there will be some more birth news very soon.

Lucy - I hope everything went well for you on Fri & look forward to hearing your news too.

Take care.

PS I'll post some pics when I get more organised.

Hi all,

Samuel Arthur Nancarrow was born at 1405 on 7 Oct. He weighed 3.92 kg, length 50 cm. Agpars 8 & 9 (Cord was wrapped twice around his neck!)

Checked in at about 4 am because my membranes ruptured, with 5 minute contractions. Active labour commenced around 11. 4 cm dilated when checked but 10cm dilated less than 1/2 hour later! They kept telling me not to push :banghead: but then thankfully checked me again!

So only around 3 hours full labour. We're home now, feeding well, sleeping well - a very easy baby and a tired and stitched mum who feels great!

Will post more when not so buggered.

The Castor Oil worked and no diarrhoa!

We are absolutely besotted.:D

Hello All!

Just wanted to let you know that our beautiful baby girl Summer Kianna :o was born on Sunday October 8th. It wasn't a picture perfect labour, so I won't go on about the details, but have two tips for those of you who are awaiting their bundles of joy:

1. I went for a prenatal massage (as I mentioned before) and she hit my accupunture points, etc. That night, I went into labour. Another mum from our prenatal classes then tried it out of desperation, and had her bub 26 hours later. Hmmm, interesting...

2. Whatever happens, it's true what they say...you forget ALL about it when your bubbie is in your arms. There is no better feeling in the world.

Lots of well wishes to all of you new mums and those about to begin thier journey, it's an unbelievable one!

HI All
Congratulations first of all to all the families who have recently welcomed their long awaited bubs into the world. And good luck to those that are still waiting.

Well.... we welcomed Willem (Will) Drew into the world on October 4th at 10:43am via elective C-Section. Although it was elective it was a huge rush to get to the hosp in time. I had been told on the friday to be there at 12:30pm on Wed for a 4:10 surgery. And while we were lying in bed trying to sleep away the wait the phone rang it was the hospital we had been given the wrong time and were supposed to be there at 6:30 to be in theatre at 9:30am.

After finally arriving at the hospital and being rushed through the addmission process Will was born weighing 8lb 14oz and was 50.5cm long. After spending all day and all night in special care having oxygen and his lungs drained I finally got to cuddle and feed him at 7:30am the next day. It was the longest wait of my life. He is the spitting image of his big brother but has a full head of black hair which was a bit of a shock to us as both of us are blondies and little T has platinum blonde hair. It will be interesting to see if it stays this way or lightens as he gets older.

Again Congratulations to those who are cuddling bubs and good luck to those patiently or not so patiently waiting the arrival of theirs

Just wanted to announce the arrival of my bubs. He was born on Thursday 12th at 10.17am. After having erratic contractions for a couple of days they picked up and we went off to the hospital at about 7.20am on Thursday. They monitored me for about an hour and i was 4cm then. 1 hr and 20 minutes later he was born. Second stage of labour was only 9 minutes:eek: He was born very quickly. lol He also had his hands up by his face so i tore a bit. Got through it with gas and some pethedine. I was going to have an epi but was 8cm by that time...so i wouldn't have had time to have it anyhow! lol
Oh and we called him Nicholas Patrick and he was 9 lbs 6.5oz or 4270gms and 55cm long.
He's just beautiful and i'll post a pic when i get some more time.

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been able to check in as often as I used to. I have missed seeing how everyone is doing! NowI have the internet up and running finally I will be able to check in more often. :smiliedance:

HUGE congrats to all those who have already had their babies. :yelclap:

We welcomed our little man, Xavier Jack into the world on October 5 after an 8 hour labour. He weighed 8lb 1oz (we were told at 36 weeks that we were to expect a very underweight baby?????? I think not!!!!!) He is absolutely beatiful and Simon and I are just so bessotted with him. Its amazing how you can just stare at them all day! :hugs:

Anyway I am looking forward to staying in touch more now (during Xavier's nap time). Can't wait to see how everyone is finding motherhood! I just love being a mum!

Once again huge congrats to all who have had their little ones and best of luck to those due over the coming weeks. X

Well walking around Australia Zoo all day on the Sunday worked a treat. We went on a car cruise for charity and on the way home started having contractions, but the eased up later that night. However.... 0219 Monday 16th I went into labour.... and I don't know what it was but I just got the feeling that this was it. Jason woke up and went to work, but got it all sorted and ended up coming home about 7. We ended up calling the hospital and got told it sounded like a real labour, but not to come in til it was too much, waters had broken or they were more regular....
The hospital called just as we were about to call to say we were coming in as they were about 5 minutes apart.... well after being hooked up on the machine and being monitored, I was admitted and put into a birthing suite.....
Well at 1949,... after emptying about 3 nitrous oxide bottles (LOL), a lot of pain, and saying 'I can't do this any more' probably a million too many times, our darling lil boy TYLER PAUL arrived.... an absoulte lil treasure.... 3445g (7lb 9.5oz), 50cm long and a head circumference of 34.5..... looking just like his daddy, but with the colour hair his mummy had when she was born.
It was the most amazing experience, with the most amazing outcome!!!.... our darling lil son. Our lil own lil miracle!!
Once I figure out how to post up photos, I'll add some to show off my lil man....

Good luck to everyone who is still expecting!! I hope it all runs wonderfully smooth and is as amazing for you as it was for us.

We welcomed our beautiful little man into the world on Friday 20th October at 5.53pm.

We named him JARVIS EDDISON. He weighed 8lbs 2.5oz, and measured 52cm. Labour lasted a very quick 2 hours 53 mins, and I was so relieved once it was all over!! I did it completely drug free, and required no stitches!!

He is such a beautiful little boy. He's sleeping and feeding great. We are both doing well, although I am sooo tired!!

Hi all,

I can finally post my birth announcement.

Lara Juliette was born on Monday 6th Nov. I went in Monday morning at 7am to have my waters broken and by 1:55pm she was here. Her labour was shorter, but more intense than Eloise's. I went from 4cm dialated to holding her in less than an hour  .

She's a dream baby...now, if we could only get day and night sorted out...

What a classic photo of the 3 generations - one to treasure. The one where dad is cutting the cord is just beautiful though, it's captured so very well and the lighting is perfect!
