Anyone know of any good swimming lessons avaialable to a 1yr old in Western Sydney? Would really love somewhere that makes it fun and exciting for the children instead of just going up and back and up and back (they're kids for goodness sake!)

Not sure where in Western Sydney you are, but the Hills Swimming School in Kenthurst in North West Sydney is supposed to be really good. In case you don't know where it is Kenthurst is about 15 minutes from Baulkham Hills and about 25 minutes from Windsor (its between the two). I'm going to start taking Nathaniel there soon.
They apparently have lots of cool stuff like mats that float in the water and swings in the water, to help make it fun and to familiarise your baby with the pool. You can check out what they do for babies and toddlers at http://www.hillsswimming.com/babies.htm
Hope that helps!

Personally I didn't like Hills Swimming School. Only did 4 sessions. I did like Waves in Baulkham Hills though. They are very similar in activities but I found Waves had more room and less people spectating.

Oh ok - good to know. I haven't been to the Hills one yet, have just heard about it from other people so I'll keep Waves in mind too.

Hey there,

We go to Castle Hill RSL - in their Aquatic centre. We sing songs in the water and they have heaps of toys in the pool to keep the bubs amused. I know that Guildford and Merrylands also have kids swimming classes and Northmead gym does too. Good luck!
