Hi All!

I hope I have started this thread in the right section :D

Following on from all the chatting re Johnsons & Johnsons I have just discovered moogoo:smiliedance: this week and am wondering what other chemicals I can eliminate using on DS!

Does anyone make their own baby powder or baby wipes or know of natural products? I am using the J&J cornstarch powder but wonder if their is anything else out there that may be better!

Thanks!

Ive just discovered moogoo too! For myself and the kids

We use cloth nappies and cloth wipes which are just cheap baby facewashers from big w and water. DD only gets rashes when teething so I will use a sposie and sudo cream. the sposies we have are the eco friendly ones.

Ive heard just plain corn flour can be used instead of baby powder

I use BabyScent. It is a locally made product (Melbourne). Great products, the multipurpose baby cream especially.

Thanks guys!

Think I will try cloth wipes with water, especially when wiping his face after eating etc!

Bellalika I will check out that company, I am in Melbs too!

I always knew the chemicals used in wipes etc were bad bug after all this talk about it i finally googled a few ingredients and it's really freaked me out!

I used mainly the cheap face washers and water for DD - am lazy with DS :o but I really should go back to the face washer thing - esp at home!
Corn flour is great for bums and it's also great for the other rolls and folds too - esp when teething.
I too love the moogoo stuff too:hyper:

I use Gaia baby powder, all natural, and the Gaia bamboo baby wipes. They are awesome. The wipes are a bit $$$, but my new little bubba has reacted to every other type of wipe, so its all I got left

We are recent moogoo converts too!! Love the stuff

Hi there, I stumbled across a blog that might help
http://www.healthybubs.com.au/index.html

just go to the blog section. She has an eczema section. I followed the regime and found it useful. Especially the creams section. really interesting.

I found that just plain old Vitamin E cream helped with my DDs eczema!

Porridge oats inside a bit of muslin or cheesecloth thrown in the bath works fab. Let them get nice and soggy then squeeze the goo out and apply to your itchy baby's skin. Then rinse off. Epsom salts in the bath instead works quite well too.

Caldendula cream works quite well to heal up really inflamed skin and aloe vera can sometimes work miracles too.

Neem oil mixed with vasoline makes a great ointment for open scratches as does Lucas paw paw ointment.

A simple no nonsense moisturiser is plain old glycerine mixed with equal parts water, you can put it in a little spray bottle to apply regularly.

The best thing though for our child's eczema has always been to stay the heck away from dairy products. Any of the above will only have limited success unless you find out what is poisoning your child's system.... in my opinion
