Hi All

Just wondering if you could help me. I went to the doc today with DS and pointed out a rash to him that's under DS's neck, it came up after he was teething and he has been scratching it out of irritation. He also had a bit of dry skin behind his knees and it was only small but now it has spread a bit further. He took one look and said it was excema. So i have got some cortisone cream to get rid of it. I have never had excema, so was wondering if anyone can provide any other tips or reassurance of what to do and what to look out for. Oh, also i read it was unsafe to use on his face, but is under his neck ok??

Thanks so much!

Hey

My ds has eczema since he was only a few months old. Cortisone cream is not for the face, but there is a cream that is for the face, i cant remember the name off the top of my head. I have also been using Deremze which you can just buy from any chemist, that has been helping alot. You will find that any "cream" does not get rid of it, it just helps to mantain it. I have been to see a skin spec. And DS reaction was to full cream milk, and dairy products.

But there is an ezcema thread, that you could probably find alot thru.
Good luck
Alicia
