I'm sorry to hear that your boy needs to be done. I hope that he hasn't been in too much pain.

My 2 boys were both infants when they were done so I can't help out too much. But for what it's worth - they both recovered very quickly.

This thread has many posts from parent who have had their boys done. I'm sure there will be some good information in there for you.

My son was born with a kidney issue and had to get done when he was 6. It was a very traumatic experience but did prevent him from getting recurrent uti's. He reacted to the morphine and it got infected leaving an annoying remnant of scar tissue which still bothers him now at 11. He was home for 2 weeks and refused to wear jocks for another week after that. I hope that his experience is not the norm but be prepared.
