I find distraction works the best.

If the tantrum continues.. I usually let ds carry on & when he's done, then I try to distract him again.

Good luck.

No idea how to deal with it, but I'm glad i'm not the only one experienced the TERRIBLE TWOS earlier than expected!

DD is 14 months too, and she has been doing the tantrum thing since just after she turned 1. As they don't seem to understand reason at this age (mine certainly doesn't), I go for a quick change of venue - pick her up and get her somewhere else, hopefully with something interesting to look at. Of course, it helps if you aren't in the middle of the supermarket or something - with us its usually food related - "no, that's MUMMY'S breakfast" usually brings one on. So I pop her in the other room, or on the lawn or wherever there is something fun for her. I also try to ignore her carrying on, so it doesn't get her extra attention, but that's hard when your eardrums are bleeding.

Good luck!
