Harley - Boys or Girls name

Hi all,

I'd just like to know what others think about the name Harley. Do you think its more a boys name or a girls name? Thanks for your opinions. Its so hard choosing names. :freakingout:

I voted boy, but asked DH and he said either. I definitely wouldn't think it strange if I met a girl named Harley, but if I saw the name in a list would assume boy :p

We have some friends with two daughters, Bailey and Morgan, I think these are similar, I personally think boy.

Don't worry what everyone else thinks, your child, your choice :)

I've met so many dogs named Harley but never a person.

FWIW I'm pretty sure all those dogs were boys too :D

If I were introduced (verbally) to a girl named Harley, I would likely repeat back Hayley? Surely after being corrected once, I would get it right (I hope).

Most names these days seem to be unisex & I think you are always safer naming a girl a boys name than the other way around. My name is Lee and I have gone through life being told its a 'boys' name, it never bothered me but I know a male Gabrielle & he HATES his name cos everyone is always commenting on it being a 'girls' name.

I think of Harley as a boys name. Makes me think of Harley Motorbikes.

It's Both.

My DH's closest mate is named Harley, and he's a great Dad and a supportive type of guy.

It is also the name of the Joker's lover Harley Quinn. (my favorite) Gorgeous, but insane lady.

I have Harley on our boys list too. I think it be an awesome girls name, but my DH isn't entirely convinced.

Definitely a name that can go either way.
I would put Harlie for a girl to help differentiate.
