Just a bit of a funny one I went to school with a boy named Peter Rabbit who I just found out has just brought our local pet store (strange coincidence or fate lol) . My cousin also races V8 supercars and used to race with a guy called Luca Duca and another called Dougall Mc Dougall. My nan had a friend called Nancy Nancurvis so she was Nan Nancurvis or Nanna Nan Nan to her grandchildren. Has anyone alse found any weird names on their travels Im sure I can remember a few more if I put my mind to it

I never heard anyone be cruel to her about it, but people would kinda giggle when her name was called out in roll call... She didnt seem to mind too much :)

I once dealt with a patient at work whose name was Lorraine Lakeesha (?sp?) - at work we use surnames first followed by first names, so this person was - wait for it - La Quicha Lorraine!! :D

My mother used to go to a dentist called Dr. Cutmore. There is a Dr. Goodhand here in Darwin (I can't think of what he does).

My previous surname was Eriksson and I worked in communications. Figure that one out :D

My dad's dentist is called dr smillie which I thought was pretty cool

I used to work with a Wayne Kim - his nickname was Far...

Far Kim... geddit?

We also used to hold sales seminars where names were pulled out of hats for door prizes. Just to embarass the presenter we'd write names like Phil McCracken, Craven Moorhead, **** Hertz, Maxi Padd.... we'd be pretty bored after 3 days of sales seminars....

This is just too funny :p I had a good laugh reading all the weird names.
I know of someone called David David (and I thought this was very strange), why would anyone call their child the same name as their surname?

How cruel can parents be? We are in the process of picking a name for our baby and I always keep in mind not to have a name that can be teased at school.

I had a teacher at school whose sister named their daughter Robyn. Their surname is Banks! Also my great-great grandmother was Rose Woodward and married into the Bush family, becoming Rose Bush. The whole family still laughs about that.

Hi Girls,
I'm loving this thread!

I know of a family who called their daughter Genna Taylor. Wasn't til they were wetting the baby's head, that one bloke had a few too many - and pointed it out to the father... He had no idea.

In Adelaide, there is a gyno... Dr Broom.
Another local Dr, Dr Dearlove - but if she'd changed her name when she married, she'd now be Dr Nutt. :D - She went for the lesser of two evils!!
Bit wrong really.

You just CAN'T do that. You'd think ppl with tricky dicky surnames would be super careful about that kind of thing. However... I've heard of a family with the surname Ness and they called their two boys Andrew and Peter. Now think about initials: A Ness and P Ness (you'd think after one son, you wouldn't make the same mistake AGAIN  )

Cheers
