Hey Girls

Just wondering if there are any 30+ mums in my area who are looking to make new friends and meet up for coffee etc.

I have only just had my first baby and I am newish to Melbourne (from Sydney) and haven't made many friends here that are my age.

I live in Narre Warren but am happy to travel...

Hope to hear from you :)

Hi Michelle

I'm not in Narre, actually i just recently moved away from there! So i can at least give you a heads up on where to find like-minded mums to socialize with :)

There is quite a large number of over 30 first time mums in the Berwick area in particular. Narre is more a mix of young twenty-somethings or grown up families.

Firstly, call the City of Casey Maternal & Child Health dept on 03 9705 5590 to get an up-to-date list of mum's groups. A quick call to each and you can suss out which group is best.

Secondly, call Linda at Parkhill Playhouse on 0400 346 267. They run a number of playgroups for ages birth to 5yrs, all run out of the Timbarra Community Centre on Parkhill Drive Berwick. Here you should meet a heap of 30+ mums (many of them first time mums). They often organise social nights out just for mums and other get togethers outside the playgroup. So there are heaps of networking opportunities.

Thirdly, Westfield Fountain Gate has a pram-walking group that walks around the inside of the shopping centre early morning prior to the shops opening. I think it is only run during the autumn-winter season, but drop by the concierge desk to enquire.

Lastly, don't know if you are religious at all, but even if you are not, The Winepress Church in Berwick have a huge range of socialising groups worth trying. Take a look at their website if you are open to it www.winepress.org.au

Good luck! Hope you find something out of that :goodluck: I'm currently facing the same problems here in my new city

We have a chat thread going here: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=396479.

Not sure if that's going to work as I have never tried to link a thread before here.

It's a chat thread for Casey area parents. If the link doesn't work search the threads for Casey & you will find us. There is talk of a meet in a play centre some time in the future so it could be a start to making some friends.

I have just started a new Facebook group, 'City of Casey Mums' for anyone out there with young children who would like to meet other local mums and make some new friends! Hope to see some of you there, please help me spread the word!

Just confirming that the next catch up is this Friday afternoon at the Old Cheese Factory at 3pm! Really hope to see everyone there! Any local Mummies or Mums-to-be are welcome :-) Updates/weather issues will be posted on the Facebook page if that suits people? Is there anyone here that doesn't have Facebook and needs updates via the forum?
