Back here again! *rolling eyes*
My milk is drying up.

Have been fighting thrush for the past 2 weeks or so and while it's a lot less painful and intense now than it was, it's been a constant battle to get it down to the level it is now. I've also been fighting a sore throat but I seem to have overcome this.

The last two days I've had my production drop off by two thirds and it hasn't picked up. If anything, it's continuing to decrease.
I'm still persisting with expression and squeezing out what I can but today I'm noticing less again.

Does anyone have any tips to increase?

I swear by Fenugreek!!! Also, when I felt like my milk supply had dwindled, I spent a day expressing a little (30 - 50mL) between feeds. It was a PITA, but that combined with Fenugreek (9 tablets per day for two days), it worked a treat and the next morning I woke up with bustin' boobies. I normally express the two last feeds of the day, but whenever I feel like my supply is a little low, I make sure I put DS on the breast rather than express feeds, and only use expressing between feeds in order to keep up my supply. I would also 'empty' both breasts each evening for a couple of days, just to keep on top of it.

I hope this helps. Best of luck with it - it's damn hard! :freakingout:

Just letting you know that your not the only one. My supply was not great 50ml out of breast on left and 10-20 from breast on the right. Not enough for DD to have. She was losing weight hand over fist. moved to formula best decision I have made. She is gaining weight nicely now.

I looked at an old picture where she had lost so much weight. Im mortified, poor little thing didnt look healthy. She now has her chubby cheeks back that she was born with.

Check with your midwife/doctor to rule out infection. This same thing happened to me and my doctor said this was because I'd contracted an infection and that milk suddenly drying up is a clear sign of this. I was treated and my milk is slowly returning. I'm currently working on increasing my milk supply and putting my baby back on breast milk.

Not saying you have one but do see your practitioner to rule that out before you take anything.
