I am starting to think about my daughter's first birthday (it's a few months away!) and I want to make a pink punch for the adults and have it served in a big punch bowl. Does anyone have any nice recipes for an alcoholic punch. I can probably add grenadine to make it pink unless anyone has any other suggestions.
Also, any ideas for pink finger food?

From my guru Jamie oliver...its called Jum and Bender...just multiply as this is for one glass...3 passion fruit, a little champagne to top up, a dash of grenadine...
halve passion fruit and push fruit through a coarse seive throw seeds a way but keep all pulpy juice on underside of seive....top up with champagne (sure sparkiling white fine!!) and a dash of grenadine...I personally love this...:smiliedance:

you could alternatively use a sparklyy rose and cut out the use of grenadine...

I also have made like a sangria but with rose wine...
1 or 2 bottles of rose
lots of sumer fruit sliced up (nectarines are great! as are blood oranges)
1 tablespoon sugar syrup (made with a bit of wine or water and sugar in pan)
white spirit...I use triple sec about 2 shots
1 shot of brandy
1 bottle of soda water or lemonade or ginger ale (depending on your taste)

I basically just mix all together and taste lots and add what i think missing!! Always goes down a storm but pretty lethal on a hot day!

pink things to nibble on...hmmmm...how about smoked salmon things - little puff pastry things with salmon on or smoked salmon toasts or blini...or prawny things...ham is also pink...what a bout cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon...

I don't really have recipe, but I used to enjoy Bombay Sapphire gin with pink grapefruit juice and a dash of lime.
So perhaps you could try the pink grapefruit juice for some colour.

How about a punch made with cranberry juice/drink, champagne and soda water? You could add some fresh berries.

Hi Bec,

A great tip I got from one of my Mum's hoarded 60's recipe collection... if you replace some of the sugar in a plain butter biscuit recipe with a packet of jelly crystals, you can make any colour bikkie you like! Don't know about adult finger food, but kids absolutely lurve the pink biscuits. Just use whatever colour jelly you want (purple works great too).

If you want the biscuit recipe I use, PM me.

Can't wait til I'm doing this for our little girl!

Bec.

Oooh, what about cupcakes (they are so IN right now) with pink icing and pink couchons. Yumm. Adults will love them too.

You could also do pink sprinkled fairy bread.

Fairy Bread with either pink jelly crystals or Pink sprinkles (instead of 100'2 n 1000's)

Chocolate dipped strawberries

Milk Arrowroot Biscuits topped with pink icing and lollies

Pink lamingtons (in the first Bub Hub bake Off thread)

You can adapt pretty much any normal party food just by adding red food dye (which will go pink in a normal sponge cake recipe), or using pink icing etc.
