I am seeking friendship from like minded parents in Perth. I have two daughters (11, 4) and 1 son (14mths). I am interested in organic vege gardeneing, nature play for kids, extended breastfeeding, home birth, attachment parenting, environmental issues. I often feel out of place in my own circle of freinds as they have very different parenting styles to me....

Any response would be great:celebrate:

I dont know about any playgroups of the kind you are thinking of, but you could try the steiner school in nullamara (I think?). they are fully into environmental issues, caring for the individual ect. I went to an open day once, and most mums were wearing birkenstocks IYKWIM :)

Hi Zaza!
When I was living in Guildford 4ish years ago there was a Natural Parenting playgroup in Parkerville. I don't remember the name or location of it (sorry!). There is also a Steiner school in Parkerville which runs a playgroup as well. You could try looking in your local paper or try contact Playgroup Australia and see if they have anything to offer :goodvibes:

Good luck!!

Hi Zaza. I'm new here and also in Perth, my son's 15 months and I have a daughter who's 4. They were both born at home and I try my hardest to be a gentle and attached parent (finding it a bit challenging atm with a 4 yr old going on 14 lol)

Anyway I'm always looking for a new friend as well, my closest friends have either moved away over the last few years, or like you think I'm a bit of a hippy and we've lost that connection a bit

I don't think I can PM you yet as I don't have enough posts but there is a natural parenting group in the eastern hills looking for more people to join, I have the details, a lovely group of people. Also someone mentioned the Parkerville Steiner School, there's a mothers group there for children who're to young for the playgroup, the other Steiner or even Montessori schools would have mothers groups too I'd imagine if that's too far from you. Or if you'd like to just meet up at a park or something that'd be nice too. :)

FAK right now, but I'm involved with an AP-leaning playgroup that is setting up a permaculture garden for the kids, will PM you once I get my toddler to sleep.

Anyone else interested, feel free to ask me too. East of city, but not hills :)

Regen, do you mean the one in Mahogany Creek?

Hi aphrodeity No not based anywhere really, just a group of parents who take turns having catch ups at their homes. Is there one in mahogany creek too, gosh there's more of us around than I thought, that's great.
