Sheer Bliss

Our breastfeeding journey has ended. About 3months shy of 2 years after it began, both my precious twins have now officially weaned. I assisted last year by introducing a bottle at bedtime last year as getting 4kids to be whilst still maintaining a nice quiet breastfed with 2 babies was becoming an impossible task.
DD2 probably would have weaned months ago, as she wasn't interested anymore, and only fed when she noticed DS2 was, and only for a few minutes. But he was my booby boy (and had the t-shirt to prove it :p). He was obsessed and I loved our cuddles and even on the days where I was over it, and asked him if he was finished, he'd remain latched on and manage to get a 'uh-uh' out and wave his hand. It was just too cute.
It's been about a month now since they have b/fed. I guess the final straw was last monday DD2 broke her thumb, and I attempted to b/f her to console her. She flat out refused. I was too upset about her being in distress to have it hit me, but now it has - she was in so much pain, but didn't want a breastfeed - she is DONE.
My breastfeeding days are over - pretty much 6years after they started. DD1 turned 6 last month and I b/fed her for 11months, then DS1 for 19months and now DD2 and DS2 for 22months. I am going to miss it (and now dread the direction my empty boobs are heading!! LOL) and feel proud to have had this with my babies. :goodvibes::goodvibes::goodvibes::goodvibes:
