Sister had one.
Had it fixed in hospital.
If you don't feel comfortable with what's happening, go and see someone in Emergency.

Hi, sorry to hear of your problem. My best friend had a prolapsed vagina after having her two kids. She ended up having surgery to fix it (she couldn't use tampons and didn't want to put up with it any longer). I think she had the op when her youngest was 4 years old and she doesn't intend on having any more babies.

By the way, her gyno performed the surgery, so maybe booking into a gyno would be a good way to go?

The first thing you need is an internal exam to figure out what has prolapsed and to what degree.

With my prolapse you couldn't see it when laying down. You need to see an Gyno get a referral from your GP.

You only had a baby 7 weeks ago your hormones are still all over the shop and in a lot of cases the prolapse gets better within 6-12 months with just pelvic floor exercise. You need to go to a physio who deals with pelvic floor, it made a world of difference to me.

You can have a pessary(sp?) put in but I didn't want that as I know many women have problems with them.

Regarding surgery they will not perform it unless your prolapse is sever (outside the vagina) or until you are done having children.
Don't think about any surgery until at least 12month after birth.

:hugs: I know how scary it is, I ran into emergency thinking I was dying and it was a hard few weeks to come to terms with what happened. But it will be ok it's not as bad as it seems now and you have a good chance of getting better without surgery.

Don't lift anything heavy and try to put your feet up in the day even if it's for 15 min here and there. The physio should teach you how to use your muscles correctly during your day.

If you need to know anything else just let me know.

Thanks for your replies. i went to the gp today and she said it was only minor, but only examined me laying down and coughing. she said it takes time for the body to get back to normal and to keep doing my pelvic floor exercises. shes doing an ultrasoiund though to check fir the cause of my pelvic pain. ill keep doing my pelvic floor exercises and if nothings changed ill ask her for a referral to a gyno when i go to get my ultrasound results
