ok many of you will already know my ds1 (16.5months old) has hearing problems and he failed another hearing test on friday :( anyway, he is having another test in 6-8 weeks.
apart from his speech development he is developing really well. he does try to talk but due to his moderate hearing problmes in one ear (they think its fluid) and now the other ear is mild-moderate (they are hoping its wax and ear drops will help fix it) he doesnt hear words as good.
anyway, we are looking at toddler groups for ds1 next yr. we like the sound of montessori toddler groups but DP is worried that ds1 wont get much out of it because of his hearing and that it will affect his confidence coz at the moment he is really happy and confident.
he asked me if i knew of a toddler group for kids with hearing problems and i honestly dont think one exists.does anyone know if one does?
what should we do?
i am waiting for a copy of the results to be sent to me so i can give copies to ds's daycares so they are aware of what we are doing at home to help ds. but apart from that i dont know what to do.
