You know the little yellow squash - well do I peel them before mushing them?? DS is 7months old. We dont peel them whe we eat them - but wasn;t sure as 2 books I ahve read say peel and de-seed????

Oh and one more thing - what about this thing I hear about adding a pinch of cinnamon?? Can they have that??

I think that squash are in the zucchini family, in which case you shouldnt have to peel and seed them. Ive never heard otherwise.

As for cinnamon, I personally wouldnt use it. If you steam the vegies they have so much beautiful flavour - it shouldnt need it. But thats just me :p

I agree with with briannabear, just steam the yellow squash and mash. I wouldn't be using cinnamon either, it probably isn't harmful but it does have a really strong flavour probably best avoided.

I've noticed that cinamon is in the jar food- things like apple and oatmeal, banana muesli etc. I agree with the others though, no need to add it to your homecooked stuff, its pretty strong flavour and knocks out the good old apple or whatever taste!
