Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how this works in a second pregnancy. I am RHneg & had a RH pos baby, then was given the injection. What happens now when I get pregnant, is it constant monitoring, or is it all okay?! I have a million questions for the doctor so thought I'd try you guys first :)

As far as I understand the anti-D injection stops your body from attacking any future positive blood cells (ie baby). I don't think you need to have any special monitoring for any subsequent pregnancies - just the injections again. Sorry I don't know too much more - am sure the doctors will be able to give you much more info!
If you have any bleeding (ie more than just spotting) throughout your next pregnancy you will be given the Anti-D at the time of the bleeding. Otherwise the standard practice is that the Anti-D is given at 28 weeks and 34 weeks and again after the birth. You will need a blood test prior to the 28 week injection as they won't give you the injection unless they know you have tested negative for anti-bodies already.
Other than that, there is no other monitoring required.

:D yep if all is ok just your 3 shots....they'll do blood tests i think its 2, just to check if theres a problem:D congrats on your pg:smiliedance:
all of the above is what I was going to say, just when you get pregnant, if you have any bleeding what so ever, go and get a shot, its very important, that includes amnios etc!
cheers, JO
