We are having a picnic this Friday, we are driving down from Gladstone so the grandparents (both sets) can have some fun with the kiddies :)
My favourite park is Rocks riverside park, but apparently it's still mostly closed :( :( :(
What are your favourite spots? Must have play equipment and a table/chairs setup (FIL simply cannot sit on the ground, well, more to the point, he couldn't get up again)
Thanks guys :)

there is a park at shorncliffe right near the pier. has bbq facilities too. nice area, covered area to sit that has plenty of room and a really awesome park there too. we go down there about once a week so coop can play and walk along the pier.

this is a list of all the parks in logan. bcc probably has a similar list. riverdale park is really nice, dp and i went there once it's got a nice walking track that goes for aaaaaaaages.
as far as i know most of logan wasn't flooded.
There is a great park near the gateway bridge called Colmslie Beach Reserve also, Svoboda Park at kuraby is good, or there's suppose to be a good one bayside somewhere, check out this web site has all parks in Brisbane http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/facilities-recreation/parks-gardens/parks-by-suburb/index.htm#L
Have a good picnic

Don't know if Ipswich is too far, but Browns Park on Canning Street is nice and a block away from Riverlink shopping centre, so easy to slip in for some shopping!!
Good luck on the drive - we used to live in Gladstone (Calliope)!! Moved here 2.5years ago. The drive is about 3 hours too long, IMO :freakingout:

The one at Aspley is called John Goss reserve. It's ok but I would definitely chose Moora park in Shorncliff before going to the John Goss reserve.
Another option would be the Kids space in Chermside. Awesome playground and BBQ facilities.
ooh does anyone know the status of the roma st parklands? because that's a wonderful place to have a picnic.
They're celebrating their 10th birthday on Saturday, Roma St. Parklands, so by the sounds of it it's open.
Guess that's what I'll be doing with the boys on saturday, as long as it's not raining :)

No idea, never been to Roma street. Just have a look on their Website (http://www.romastreetparkland.com/Pages/default.aspx) and then click on the ad that says 10th birthday celebration.
They have Jumping Castles and face painting among other things. Just skipped through last night and now I'm off to work, so not really time to look into it lol
