Why it costs so much??? I understand that quality costs more and all that, and Im always prepared to pay a bit more for something that is going to last, but are these clothes spun in gold or what? Im just browsing a site that has it at up to 70% off and Im baulking at the sales prices! There are boys tshirts for $155.00, for a tshirt, not even a collared going out shirt! And $186.00 for a plain old jumper! Now dont get me wrong, this stuff is nice and all, especially the girls stuff, some of their past seasons clothing has had me drooling a bit, but Ive seen just as nice in other places, there is one girls blouse that has caught my eye, it is down to about $55, but even that is alot of money to pay for one shirt for a little girl imo, so can anyone who has bought this brand before convince me its worth it, am I missing something, or should I just head to the Best n Less sale instead?:D

i dunno...my dutch friends swear by it...they all wore and wear and dress their bubs in it...I had a skirt form there which was just lovely and lasted forever and stood up to alot of sun, sea and sand wear whilst I was a reckless young twenty something...I too love their clothes and always said I would dress a little girl in it ... but that was when earning English £'s - no way now unless I get something off ebay!!

A friend of mine buys a lot of it on ebay and it is beautiful and seems to wash and wear very well....but despite my envy of how lovely her daughter looks I still haven't been able to come at buying it for my girls.

I've just had a look at their website and I don't get it!
As some of you would probably already know (with my addiction to Gymboree) I'm not opposed to spending money on the boys' clothes, but I don't honestly think Oilily's clothes are very nice - not the boy's range anyway. I'm looking at the range and I just don't get it...I know I've said that before, but really...I don't get it - I wouldn't pay $5.00 let alone $55.00.
I'll stick with Gymboree thanks!

LOL @ cupcake :D

The girls stuff is alot nicer than the boys, I wouldnt even consider any of the boys stuff, even at sales price, but some of the girls stuff, especially some past seasons stuff you can find on ebay is just lovely, I think MD is right though, if Im going to fork out a bit extra it should be at Gymboree, that stuff just jumps out at me and says 'BUY ME NOW'

Well thanks to a lady in Surry Hills who is selling all her sisters kids designer clothes for $10 a piece cause they have gone overseas to live, my son is now the proud owner of some Oilily overalls, and I must say they are rather funky :D (still wouldnt have paid anywhere near what they must have cost originally though)

I think it's silly to spend that much on kids clothes. If you have that much to budget on clothes maybe you could hit Best & Less then give the money you saved to child who is dying of starvation in a third world country, to be fed for 6 months.:shame:

Growing up I only ever had handmedowns, so now that I can afford to buy what I want for my DD I will! I always give to charities and help those less fortunate. But I dont see why I should only by cheap clothes if I can afford to buy some nice things. For the record I buy basics like singlets onsies etc, from lost of places including best & less, Big W, kmart etc. But if I see something nice I will buy it if I can afford it. It's my and my DF's money so its our choice.:)

i would only give the money if I could be certain would go to that poor starving child...helluva lot of money we give to such organisations thouse children never see...
I personally would buy some more dearer brands cos IMO they last longer and often look nicer for longer...just the same with adult clothing...I personally find if I spend a bit more and get something that is of better quality and fits better looks better and lasts longer...I too would get play clothes for kids from best and less, target and kmart adn the occasional extra from a better quality brand...and to be fair sometimes not that much more expensive than Best and Less or Target...

It's interesting that people feel the need to justify their purchases for their children if they're buying anything dearer than Best & Less or Kmart clothing - it's your money Ralph...you can do what you want with it!!!

Just for the record, just because I spend more on my children's clothing than others see fit doesn't necessarily mean that I don't give to charities...I may talk about the clothes my children wear but I don't have to talk about every donation that I make.

Gosh........I just checked out the Oilily website and all I can say is :barf:

Yuk, there is no way I would dress my DD in any of that gear - I just looked at the baby girl gear, not sure if the other collections are any better or not. And their website sucked too.

I have a bit of a weakness for Baby Dior myself...........but I'm a savvy shopper and don't pay ridiculous prices for it. And yes I donate plenty to charity & fundraise every year

I personally think some of their past collections are better  but hey each to their own! As for baby Dior I love their boots V.v.cute. I don't always pay full price either I always make sure I get a good deal just like I do for myself
