I was just wondering when do you start giving bubs water, and what times do you give it to them???

just confused about the whole water thing...

do they take much when you offer it to them ?

i started giving my babies water when they were a few months old, just cooled boiled water. they only had a few sips here and there in the hot weather :)

ever since ds was little i have offered him water before milk, now he is on solids he drink heaps of water he loves it, i think its recommened to try with 20mls at first

Its recommended by lots of doctors now that additional water isn't needed until 6 months, when they start solids.
I started giving my own DS coooled boiled water in a cup at 6 months and he loves it. He was a summer baby and I made sure he had lots of breastfeeds on the really hot days.

In fact, water given to a very young baby can be harmful.

It was suggested to me that because K was FF almost from birth, that I needed to give him cooled, boiled water, which I did from when he was about 4 weeks old. I was told to give him about 5 mls 3 times daily in a syringe.
