hi I am Jackie. I am a 23 old mother that moved up to Brisbane last year. My little monkey Luca is 8 month old. We have made some friends already but they are way older than I am. If there are any Mums in the area that would be interested for a meet up let me know!
:fingerscrossed:

Hi Jackie,
Would love to meet up with yourself and some other young mums in the area. After easter sounds great. I'm free most weekdays, except fridays and usually tuesdays. I've been lucky enough to meet up with another young mum in the area, who may also like to come along, so keep me posted once a day/place is set. :)

It seems we are getting a nice little group together! :) just need to set a time and place now.. What would everyone prefer, a coffee place or a park or something else? And thursday or wednesday?

I'm keen to do Thursday, were free until 2pm (I have work at 2:30).

My toddler has quite a lot of energy so parks tend to be better for us, we can do coffee shops but she usually only lasts 20-30min.

This coming thursday? Sounds good to me! What about Jubilee park in Bardon? It's on fletcher parade and has a nice playground and some tables as well.. We could meet there around 12?

We could do Thursday around 10, or 11 ( my DS usually has a nap from 9-10.30) And is Jubilee park ok for everyone?

Hi,
Thursday works for me, though we'll probably be there more around elevenish, as my little one is grumpy without her morning nap. Hopefully this miserable weather improves! :)

hey everybody!
Hope you had a great relaxing easter and a lot of eggs :)
Since our last meet up was very nice for a first get together I suggest that we should make it a regular thing?!? :fingerscrossed:
Probably a good idea would be to swap around the playgrounds in the area at each meet up....
Anyway let me know if you are keen to do so as well?
Looking forward to see you all again!:celebrate:

It was great meeting everyone and I agree, we should do it again! Maybe next week?

I would love to meet up with everyone again soon! Next week suits us. There is a really good park at Ithaca near the pool, and also one at red hill, which we could also meet at occasionally :)

I don't like morris park (the one near ithica pool) as people from the pool don't close the gates properly and as a result my daughter almost got hit by a car there a few months ago.

Dorrington (enchanted forrest park) in ashgrove is really toddler friendly, or woolcock park in red hill is nice and safe (though more an all ages park).

I think both the red hill and ashgrove park are walking distance from me, so could do either.. Shame about the paddo one being unsafe, that would be the easiest.

I think the Paddington Park (Neal Macrossan Playground Park) is fine. As long as you are keeping an eye on your child.
The park we went to last time didn't even have a fence all the way around it.
I am totally happy with whichever one though! :)

If the park at Ithica pool is closest for anyone I would love to catch up there during the week as well.
I would be more than happy to send a PM with my number also :D

My toddler wondered off exploring last time whilst I was standing at the lower park thinking it was safe and fenced. When I looked up she was heading through the tennis courts, by the time I caught her (running franticly) she was standing on the edge of the hale street on ramp jumping up and down.

Its not a park you can relax at, fine if your child likes to stay close or isn't mobile, but I think there are far better options that aren't next to a highway.

Yeah thats totally cool and fine, but as I don't drive I find it hard to get to other parks with 2 children.
I don't mind where we meet though really! I am just saying that I think that park is fine myself and have been going there for 3 years. I don't expect you to go there if you don't want to!!

I have to say I can never really relax at any park though lol, 2 children running this way and that!

Well any park is great so just let us know the one you choose and what time and I'll see if we can get there.:D

I have the same issue, i dont drive either, so where ever we go it needs to be either where 385 bus goes or walking distance :)
I hope we can find something that we all agree on, would love to see everyone again! :)

Hunbun - Your close enough to me that I don't mind giving you a lift :)

sorry about the late reply, but Luca has been so cranky lately that I hardly have time to go online.
Now that we agreed on which parks we like and not we should set a time and day to meet up. :p
Due to the fact that everyone seemed to be fine with woolcock in red hill we should meet there. Same day as last time? Thursday? Same time too?
Hope you can all make it! Looking forward to see you all again....:smiliedance:

Thanks Merla! :) Woolcock park is fine for us and so is thursday, what time should we do it? 10.30-11? It depends on what time DS decides to have a nap so I may or may not be late :)

Yep sounds perfect to me too!
I must remember to bring my blankie this time too oh and some morning tea.

Merla

Are we on for Woolcock 10:30-11 tomorrow?

Hunbun, do you want a lift?

Hunbun
11-05-2011, 20:47
I'm coming! But as I said, I might be late because DS naps around that time usually..
Thank you Merla, if he's not sleeping then I would love a lift, maybe I'll text you in the morning and we'll take it from there?
