Finger Foods

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering, my little one is almost 6 months old and has been on solids since about 5 months old, when do you introduce finger foods, and what sought of finger foods.

I was wondering this my self so I called the parent hot line and they reckon that when they can handle lumps with out gaging you can start finger food...
They recomend blanching sticks of carrots and other vegies, pieces of soft friuts, bread sticks.
I haven't started my boy just yet as I don't think he would be able to conroll his excitment enough for the fod to make it to his mouth! LOL!
