i throught it would be nice for mothers to share what there children have had to hep other mothers out.

my 2nd daughter was very healthy for the 1st month after she was born then it went down hill. 1st of all she was vomiting up blood so i took her to the childrens hospital they took blood test and all sorts broke my heart. a week later still not knowing wat was wrong with her they sent us home hoping she would be ok. that same night we went home she starting having nose bleeds and vomiting up blood so again we took her bak up for 2 days they could not find anything wrong so again we went home shes been in and out of hospital. dianne is now 15 months and only the last 2 months we found out wat it is dianne was lactose baby the milk had bilsterd and tore all on the inside of her tummy. they also told us she had one weak lug and when she gets to hot or to cold fast she may go into a fit. :fingerscrossed: lets hope this neva happens again.

Well it sounds like you have been through a lot.
It was my 2nd child who was also the sick one.
Nath was 2 weeks old when he started to vomit. Since my DD had reflux we just asumed it was just reflux but a bit worse. The CHN was worried that he had lost weight so sent us to our GP just to get it checked. I sat there at the Drs almost convincing the Dr that it was just reflux and we decided to try him on thickened formula and if no improvemt to bring him back in a week(or sooner if things worsened). 3 days later the vomits were much worse and he had blood in his urine. So off we went for an ultrasound and a urine test. Thats when we found out nathan had Pyloric Stenosis which is were the muscal at the bottom of the stomach closes shortly after birth. We went straight up to the Mater childrens hospital where he was operated on the next day. After his op we found out that he also had a kidney infection. After 4 days in Hospital he went home only to have to come back the next day for a kidney U/S. He then stayed on anti biotics until he had a MCU to test for Kidney reflux. Thankfully it came back all clear. After that he ended up with bad reflux (common in PS babies) and as a result hatted drinking milk so it was a constant struggle to get him to drink and put on weight.
Nath is now almost 2years and has had no problem since his reflux subsided at 12mths:smiliedance:

my ds1 was born 41 weeks. and he was tested 4 times for mengitis while in SCN but each time they couldnt get the stuff they needed to test it so they just gave him general antibiotics for his infection in the hopes it would work and it did. he had jaundice and was under the lights for 10 days and was also tube fed for 3 days ro there abouts and until 3 months never drank more then 60 ml without spewing most of it up we were told it wasnt reflux but coz he was still learning to suck and to try a different teat and we did but it still happened.they never tested him for allergies in SCN they just presumed he would stop spewing once he went home.
at easter this yr ds1 got gastro and since then has been diagnosed as lactose intolerant and cannot handle any dairy or soy. he also has asthma and eczema and reacts to alot of foods :(
its been a downhill yr for his health. his hearing is also not so good.

my son was born with low muscle tone so we had to do 101 tests to rule out serious things such as brain damage. it required a year of physio, speech therapy etc
he has had bout 10 febrile convulsions (most kids only have 1)
he has been hospitalised with pnuemonia twice and scarlet fever once
but now his a 5 year old soon to be that wont sit still for a minute:thumbsup:

Sam has stopped growing. He is so far off the bottom of the growth chart that they don't measure him as a percent anymore (except his height, 3%), they measure him as what age he is average for, four and half months for weight and five months for head circ).

They are not sure what is wrong (if anything) but took blood on Thursday to test for a few different things. He is 7 kilos even and has only put on 50g in the last 2 months. He eats well and seems healthy in other aspects. He is cruising furniture, saying a few words and meeting other milestones.

the hardest thing is not knowing whats wrong. i waited 12 months to find out wat was worn with my daughter and its so sad noty knowing every time her ear bleed or had blood in her urine and was taken up we were send home one of the doctors when i took her the 1st time told me i was making it up.
i was so upset and my baby was vomiting up blood everywhere how could i have made it up? i was so mad at him lucky one of the nurses sat with me and helped us out as much as they could.
