Freaky second tooth

Help ! Have just found a second tooth growing sideways out of my daughters bottom gum.. She's 5 and her baby teeth are still stuck tight.

Anyone heard of this happening?? :(

My daughter had this problem...take her to a dentist to get checked out. Sometimes the baby teeth don't come out when they're supposed to, and the adult teeth are forced to come through. My DD is almost 12 now, and has had corrective dentistry for about 4yrs- but the earlier the better (don't wait for it to fix it'self!)

Thank u for your reply:) My sister just told me all of my nephews teeth came out that way too, but luckily his moved forward ok once the babys fell out. But booking Maddy into the dentist today to see what they say.

I work for an orthodontist and I've seen quite a few patients with this problem. Like a previous poster says, it usually happens when the baby tooth doesn't fall out so the adult tooth has to find another spot to erupt.

Definitely go and see your dentist! As with all things teeth related it's always better to get it seen to early rather than wait.
