I work from home and am having problems finding a decent cleaner/cleaning agency to clean the house whilst I'm working in it! Have had major problems with Absolute Domestics - very rude phone staff and their cleaners were not at all good and seemed to have a problem working around me (Perhaps they wanted me gone so they could slack off??) I'm in Sydney so any help would be much appreciated as the dust is starting to build up and I can't find the time to juggle work/family/ and cleaning!!! :smiliedance:

It took me a while to find cleaners I was happy with. I can't recommend any firm/ agency, as I'm not in NSW, but I found the best way was to ask my neighbours for recommendations as to who they used.

I have actually asked family and friends if they know of a good cleaner and the general consensus amongst them all is definitely not to use the rude and incompetent staff at Absolute Domestics!! They advertise prolifically in Sydney but apparently their call centre is in Brisbane, so it's staff up there who "manage" the Sydney clients. Everyone has told me how rude the women in the call centre are, and I had a brief conversation with them myself about a month ago - and oh my goodness, Absolute Domestics couldn't be ruder if they tried. No wonder everyone says Absolute Domestics is rude - just Google it to see for yourself!

If anyone can recommend anywhere else I'd be really appreciative :cheerleader1:

I'm in Brisbane so don't have a specific recommendation. We used Absolute Dom initially also but I think because they are casual employees in a massive company then they just don't care (fair enough!). We then switched to a franchisee (VIP cleaning) who obviously cares cause it's their own business at stake. They were fantastic. Why not try a local franchise? I think James' Cleaning might be a franchise also but I don't know if you've got either of those down there.

The other option is just hire a local independent person and pay cash. Classifieds often list local cleaners.

I have a newborn and the treat for myself was to have a cleaner at home. I was recommended by a friend of mine to Clean Buddy (cleanbuddy.com.au). They're a young couple who own and run the company. They came and did a free quote and now they come every week to clean. They're the best ones i honestly have had....everything gets done and we have a great relationship... i would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a cleaner. And they don't use harmful toxic chemicals, which is what i wanted. Theyre only in Sydney and mainly the eastern suburbs...
Hope this helps you :goodluck:
