I love the idea of the turn-a-tot car seats - don't really love the price tag though lol... Does anyone know if there is a cheaper alternative on the market?

We have downsized cars since we had DD and getting a bubba into a 2 door car with a 'traditional' rear facing seat may prove to be a little difficult me thinks..

As far as I know they are the only ones on the market with that feature. We bought one from Toy's R Us on sale and it was definately worth every cent spent on it.

We also brought a turn a ttot because we have a 2 door 4WD. We picked it up for $300 at toys r us on sale.

i actually thought they were a really unsafe carseat, as there were tests done on them, did they improve the design maybe??

They definately meet every Australian standard;) I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

Just letting you know that I have a Mother's Choice convertable car seat and find it easier to get DS out of his rear facing seat in a 2 door car than a 4 door car.

we had no probs getting either bub out or in seat with a safe and sound royale rear or forward facing in a corrolla hatchback:D

I absolutely love our turn-a-tot and can't speak highly enough of them.

I'm not very tall so leaning over to a traditional seat was quite difficult and I figured anything that reduced bending, twisting and leaning had to be a good thing (it wouldn't take too many opsteopath visits to spend the extra price) . Then I developed severe tendonitis once the little man was born, using the turn-a-tot put far less pressure on my wrist than the traditional seat (which we have in our other car). I was also able to have my son rear facing much longer than many others I know as it was not difficult to get him in and out even when he got heavier. 14 1/2 months on it is one of the few major baby purchases where I don't say if I knew then what I know now...

When you say convertible car seat, does that mean can either be rear or forward facing? I have one like that from when DD was born - but now we are driving a 2 door car and from what I can see if we put the baby seat behind the passenger's seat, we will have to put bubba into his seat from the driver's side  cos the baby seat won't be accessible from the passenger's side to put the baby in...

Can you picture what I mean? :)
