hi everyone,
ive been thinking about posting this thread for the last few hours and think that the time has come to actually post it also a warning for TMI,
I went to the doctors yesterday and had a pap smear and also a basic pre conception check since we have been trying to conceive for the last 6 months and still haven't had any success, well the doctor couldn't find my cervix although it is a couple of days since O and she managed to find it she said that it abnormally high she also did an internal feel for my overies and was happy that they appear to be in the right position. My question is im wondering if anyone else has had an experience similar? at the moment I have a dreadful feeling that I may not be able to concieve and as a result I am pushing my DF away :crying:
sorry for it being so long but I needed to get it off my chest

You really should stop pushing your df away :shame: . My dh and i have been ttc for 8 mths and i know it can be disheartening :o but just think of all the woman that conceive after years of trying. Also, there are so many ways to assist people in getting pregnant these days. You really should talk about this with your df, he might have exactly the same fears as you.
Everything happens for a reason!
Are you going for further tests? I actually had a bt and an us about 6 weeks ago just to see what's going on in there, and naughty me hasn't been back to get the results, i figure if it's bad the doc will call.

May babies grow in your bellies

:hugs: yes.. your not alone.. It took me 6 whole years to see even a GP because I was (and to be honest) still am petrified of hearing "you will never have children" I get sooooo anxious and push *everyone* away..
Dont be to hard on yourself... and try to let DH in when you can...
Be kind to yourself on this journey
Thinking of you

thanks twinkletot and anxiousEm :hugs: i know your right and also know in my mind that I shouldnt be pushing DF away and that there are many other deserving people out there wanting to be parents but think that i needed to hear it from someone else, think it may also be stressing me since i work in childcare seeing babies everyday cant help,:banghead: im going to wait for the pap smear results to come back as the doc wont give them out over the phone so to save making 2 appointments ill ask for bloods when i make that appointment think that ill talk to DF in the morning bout how im feeling (hes a shift worker and sleeping at the moment) and ask him how he feels about it all, thanks again your messages actually made me :crying: when i read them since they are so true!:hugs: good luck to you both with your TTC

did they actually say that the high cervix would make it harder to conceive?

I was told during my first pap smear that I had a tilted cervix, I had no idea what it meant (and still dont) and to be honest didnt worry about it at the time because i was about 18 (if not younger) and fertility was the last thing on my mind! However since then I have asked at a pap smear and the GP said they dont know what I am talking about and everything is fine with the cervix... the FS didnt find anything abnormal with it either.

I would be asking for more information and possibly going to another gyno or specialist before getting too worried.

:hugs:

Isn't it true that every woman is different and some have a longer vagina than others? same as no 2 penises are the same???
I could always check my cervix and it would feel different and be higher or lower at different times of the month. Now that I am PG in my second trimester it has gone altogether! must be very high at the moment and I can't even reach it.
So I wouldn't worry too much. But maybe do a search on the internet to see if you can find further info? Or book in to see a gyno who will be experienced in this sort of thing.
Good luck TTC'ing.

I am sure everything will be fine - if you are worried you should go and see another Dr just to put your mind to rest. It really is stressful ttc ! I hope you get your BFP very soon :)

Thanks again everyone,
They didnt say if it could affect the chances of falling pregnant but she did say that if it hasnt happened within another 6 months (making it 12mths TTC) that we should have the tests to find out what is going on and look into other forms of conception if need be, I asked all the questions about it that I could think of but it is the 2nd time that a doctor has pointed it out, and it was a different doctor each time I didnt mention it to the 2nd in the hope that it was back to "normal" if there is any such thing , like NicoleE I wasnt TTC the 1st time so I wasnt too concerned, when I go for the pap-smear results we will also try to get a referal to a specialist or even more information, ive looked it up on the net but all that i keep getting in the results is that it is mostlikely because of O, the results should be back next week so ill look into it more then,
good luck TTC everyone :fingerscrossed:

I think it would be worth having more test just to make sure. Maybe ask for an ultrasound so they can look at everything too. (not just the cervix) I have no idea what this means for fertility but I would be concerned after 2 Drs. have mentioned it to you. I wish you the best of luck!:hugs:
