I know there are similar threads, but this is my story and I guess every baby is different. I also realise that eventually they do sleep through the night...my 4 year old is evidence of this - he was a frequent night waker until around 18 months. Anyway....my story...

DD is just 7 months today, she was a great sleep up until around the 4.5 month mark which I see is a very common thing that they suddenly change! I just havent had any luck getting back to these 10 -12 hour uninterrupted sleep. She is FF and has a dummy. She will wake constantly during the night and all we have to do is go in, put her dummy in and tuck her back in. She rolls and rolls and rolls in her bed, so we turn her over, tuck and leave. We have no fuss, no lights, no talking, dummy and run! I do this around 4-10 times a night. The CHN suggested loosing the dummy...eeek. So right now she is trying to go to sleep (she said try day sleeps first) without the dummy....scream, scream, scream.I'm typing and trying to ignore it.....

Does anyone have any miracle suggestions to try? I'm not sure I can do this loose the dummy thing??? I want to but have to be strong...anyone been successful at this? HELP....I have no energy, our sex life is non existent (lol) I just have to hit the pillow and I crash......

BTW...there is silence in her room right now and no dummy!:fingerscrossed:

It could be the fact your bub is moving around so much that she is waking herself up. When my son who is now 2 was doing this, on the advice of a friend who had one - I invested in a safe-t-sleep, a kind of sheet that harnesses around babies body which prevents them rolling around. They can sleep on their backs in it or their sides but cant roll to their tummies or all over the bed. I found using this in conjunction with a sleeping bag solved most of my boys sleeping dramas. Anyway just a suggestion, from a mum who had one of the worst sleepers out - All the best Jo

Thanks for the tip...have thought about the sleeping bag so might get one of those!....anyway, she hasnt had a dummy in her mouth since 10am this morning so....this will be an interesting night for me...I am sure I will need matchsticks to hold my eyelids open in the morning!

babytoo just wanted to see how you went without the dummy :fingerscrossed:
I attended a day stay program and they mentioned if I didn't want to go cold turkey, to try to settle first without the dummy and only put the dummy in if this dosen't work. I have been having the same problem, sometimes getting up to put the dummy back in up to 20 times
