That's appalling!
Those poor kids! I know they are pressured staff wise, but from the sounds of it those kids need to be out of that environment NOW!!!

That is disgraceful.
I would keep complaining every time you witness something. And call the police when you know she is driving under the influence of drugs etc.

I never understood why things like this don't get acted upon. Until I met a police officer who explained it to me. There is a *code* used on these cases which is RPI which stands for Resources Prevent Intervention. Basically the workers who get handled these cases in DOCS or Families SA, or whatever it's called in the state you live in, and they can only do e certain workload so they assess which cases seem urgent and the way they do this is say for instance it's a Friday afternoon and they look at a case and think 'Mmm this child won't make it through the weekend unless we intervene' and it's at this point that they do something! So even though some poor child is being hit, threatened, left in a drugged type of environment etc sometimes it isn't *bad* enough and due to their lack of resources they won't act on it. I was a bit angry when I heard this - well actually I was more than angry but once again it shows the disgusting system that we have some days :(

Yes, that's why they need you to keep reporting. Cases that keep being reported have to be investigated, surely? Please keep going. Can you involve the school at all?
Well done for making a report :hugs:

I was told that they will only act if they get 3 or 4 reports off diferent people abpout the same thing. Also in Vic when I called docs I didnt get through to docs it was some charity organisation and they decided if the case was worth investigating or not.
It is a load of hog wash, how many kids are out there being abused and suffering, just becuase only one person has the guts to make the call not the whole street!!!

This is a funding and resources problem. How frustrating for you and all of us, it just isn't fair for these kids. But if you are a DOCS worker or the like and there is no resources or no where to place the child what are you going to to? Take them all into you own home?
The government needs to put way more money and resources into this area!!
like a PP suggested can you call the childs school and get them involved, perhaps they can make a report.
or anyone else who knows what is going on ask them to call and report even if it annonymously.
