Hi I'm currently 35wks & don't feel I have any support whatsoever as I'm having shared-care with my doc & gc hospital. This is my 3rd child but with a ten yr gap & I had midwives tend to me thru-out my previous 2 pregnancies. My hubby was not present @ those 2 births so I would really like a bit of support & comfort from someone who understands so I can go they birthing relaxed & not a freak job!! Would really appreciate any help possible x

Hi Stacey

I'm not sure about student doulas, but if you'll consider a student midwife, there's a group of student midwives from Griffith Uni (Logan) based at GC hospital so you might have some luck there. I'm sure some of the GC student mids would be wonderfully supportive. I'd offer myself but (though I'm also a Griffith mid student) I'm based at a different hospital.
Here's some more info and who to contact (http://www.griffith.edu.au/health/school-nursing-midwifery/resources).
