Hi everyone, I've been trying to read up on the differences with the 2. I myself cannot drink full cream milk and can have yoghurt, ice cream etc in small amounts I get terrible cramps and nausea. My daughter is 9 1/2 months and she is breastfed but has the off formula top up and she's fine on that, however yesterday I gave her banana custard and ever since when she does a poo (still 3 times a day) they are very runny, mustard colour and frothy like.. She eats alot of yogurt but only had cheese a couple times. The custard jar said 14% full cream milk where as the yoghurt has low fat milk, do you think this could be a cows milk allergy? Someone said formula has lactose in it so I'm thinking it might not be lactose intolerance, but really not sure! Has anyone had this happen or any advice opinions appreciated :)
Formula has lactose and cows milk protein. What else is she eating?
Some lactose intolerant people can handle yoghurt cause it has hardly any lactose in it whereas milk, cream and usually ice cream are big no no's. Do you think it could be something else she is eating?
Don't forget your breastmilk has lactose in it whether you are dairy free or not - but it wouldn't have much Cows milk protein in it if you are dairy free. Confusing huh?
Maybe try this website - I find it very helpful - it has a food intolerance matrix

bm is naturally high in lactose , and if your lo is having the occasional formula bottle that has lactose and cmp , could it be something else she has eaten perhaps?

It must be. I don't really know anything about this. I'm pretty sure it was teething related cos a few days later she cut a tooth, last time I knew they were coming and she had severe runs n nappy rash. This time there was nothing and then a tooth! She has had cheese a couple times but won't go near it now shakes her head and pushes it away. She's fine on yoghurt so I'll just keep giving that to her. I'll see how she goes when she tries cows milk at 12 mnths. Thanks :)
