Seriously, am i the only person in the world whose child puts themselves to sleep at the start of the night, can be settled in the cot most of the time (sometimes at the moment needs a quick cuddle beside cot but goes back in awake) but still wakes every 0.5-3 hours? I was led to believe once they can do all that it's only a matter of time...
He's 18mo and we're tired but still committed to no cry. He has also been completely night weened for a while.
I've posted on here before and am kind of resigned to the fact that whether through our actions or just his own struggles nothing is going to help. More just looking for anyone in the same boat who might like to chat so we can support each other.:hugs:

:hugs: you arent alone.
DS is almost 16 months old and wakes anywhere between 4-8 times every night. if it gets to 8 i go into his room and cosleep on the single bed so i can pretend to be getting some sleep.
we are a step behind in progress though. 90% of these wakes he needs to be fed back to sleep :( he is cutting molars and eye teeth so is not eating any solids. Im hoping it gets better when those teeth are through.
we are waiting till june to night wean (hubby works at a school- so has holidays then) hoping night weaning will help- though im less hopeful reading your post :(
i hope it improves for you. we have been told that they will sleep one day and to hang in there. its hard when im the only one settling him ever though.

Poor little bubba with the teeth coming through. DS has really felt all of his teeth also so i don't think that has helped.
I hope night weaning works better for you than for us. Something that really helped him get rid of night feeds I think was doing it very gradually, ie. one feed every week or two and before that we used the Pantley Pull Out (See No Cry Sleep Solution) and got him really used to that which he was very accepting of.
Last night for us it actually was pretty good. Bed at 7pm, woke at 1am, 6am then up at 7am. A lot better than the previous night in which i don't even know what happened. I'm not getting too excited though. We have had occasional nights like this before and it has always been an exception.
We'll see. Good luck.
Definitely not alone. Both my kids were like that. Totally able to be put in their cots, chatter away to themselves and then nod off without any help from me. But when they woke in the night, anywhere from 2-6 times i'd have to feed them back to sleep. I tried patting and shhhhhhing, but normally ended in feeding.
Neither of them started to gain the ability to re-settle themselves until after i stopped BFing them. I just took it as they weren't getting enough into them in the day to get them though the night so needed topping up. I know you are told that they should be able to make in all night, but i don't always believe that.
