Hey, we are taking our niece and her fiance to dinner on Friday, but only want to spend say $10 a head, any one know anywhere we could take them apart from Mcdonalds? lol On the northside of brissie.

Sorry I have no idea ....I know that in the Valley you can find some very good Chinese resturants but $10 p/h that is probably asking abit much these days...really good Thai rest. on beams rd. on the crn. of Handford rd you have to book and I dont know the $$$ in the motel there.

Why not cook up a fondue at home that would be cheap and I'm sure you could get a few good recipes on here. That way you could eat on cushions on the floor and make it ur own little resturant in your home..

I think Toscani's at Northlakes have an all you can eat pizza, and some italian dishes for $15 a head?!

We found out there is still a Pizza Hut you can dine in (all the ones i knew were turned into express) and it's 11.95 all you can eat, so we'll go with that one. Not all that classy, but hey, you can't complain when someone else is shouting. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
I'll have to check out that Thai restaurant one day, sounds good. Oh, and mum23girls, we are in North Lakes so we'll check out Toscanis one day too.

When I lived in the Valley, Luckies Italian Resturant was very cheap and Yummy. Its just out of the train station too near McWherters.

I am not sure which Pizza Hut you are talking about but Arana Hills has dine in.
You could go with Sizzler too they are fairly cheap still aren't they?
Yep, the Arana Hills is the one i'm talking about. I didn't realise there were any left, we used to go all the time when we were kids.
The last time i went to sizzler it was $20 plus per person, but i'm not a fan of their food anyway, exept the cheesy bread! Yum! Must work out that recipe. lol

lol your welcome! It's sooo yummy isn't it;)
I don't know if you have any chinese rest that does this but (6-8 ppl to serve that is) what we do is we order maybe 5 dishes from a chinese rest not including rice (we boil our own rice) and it cost us about $65 so it makes it about $8/head for 8 ppl or $10.80 p/h for 6 ppl. It's nice and cosy and you can be as casual as you like too

The Valley Corner restaurant in the Valley is sooooo yummy. Try the deep fried broccoli leaves with walnuts. Sounds disgusting but is the scrummiest thing ever!

oh allie my favourite restaurant.........and I live in the NT!!! It's the first place we went we meet 15 years ago,Lyn is just beautiful........its the first place we go when we step off the plane!! 5 weeks to go yipeeeeeee....oh and you must try peking shredded beef:yes: bring it on......

The salt and pepper calamari? :yes: Love that, too! I like the Kun Po chicken as well. One of my girlfriends always gets the Mongolian lamb, but I think it's just okay. The imperial king prawns are pretty good, I think. Have only tried that once, though.

God I work in the Valley and haven't heard of any of these places but am going to make the effort to find The Valley Corner restaurant! Where is it exactly?
Oh and I live just up the road from the Arana Hills Pizza Hut! I have been wanting to go and gorge on pizza and icecream but don't hink I should until after Bean is born.... unless you think it's safe for me to go now??

It's totally safe for you to go and gorge on pizza and icecream...you may as well do it now while there is just the two of you cause going out after the baby is born is a little harder.....pizza is totally safe for you and bub as is ice-cream think of all the calcium....:yes:
:laughing: I love your justification! I was just concerned about pizzas that have been sitting there and aren't fresh. I guess I could keep an eye on when the fresh ones came out and gorge on those. Hmmmm, I am suddenly extremely hungry.... must be lunch time!

Lunch dates work too. A lot of places have cheap lunch deals. DH and I go to this place in Albany Creek called "SAMS" it's a steak house and they offer $9.90 steaks with chips and salad. It's a good deal!!
