Hi all,

My 5yo DD has been off dairy all week to experiment with the effects of dairy on her as I suspect some kind of intolerance or something there.
She has just had her first day back on dairy, alot of dairy; more than what she'd usually have. It's just gone 1am and she just woke up and vomited..... HOWEVER my 3yo was up 4 nights ago vomiting so now I don't know if she has a tummy bug like he did or if it's dietary? I would have thought if it was dietary she would have been effected by it hours ago; but also I would have thought if she was going to catch the tummy bug she'd have caught it days ago?

So now I don't know what to do.... if she does have a tummy bug, a high dairy diet certainly isn't going to do her any favours! I don't know if maybe I should postpone the high dairy diet or keep going....

Help please!

Thanks. :)

I was told that Lactose intolerance wouldn't cause vomiting (Sometimes allergies do) but not intoleraces. But you are right - if she has a tummy bug dairy is the last thing she needs anyway so don't giver her anymore for a couple of days I reckon - just too see. If it happens again when you reintroduce then maybe you are looking at an allergy of some kind?

Thanks. Well she ended up vomiting all night/day, so I'd definitely now say it's a bug. I'll have to hold off dairy for a while now though, she is always intolerant to dairy for afew weeks after having a tummy bug.
And she has vomited after having dairy (usually straight milk) before too.... Seriously I don't know what if anything is wrong with her, she's just so delicate about everything!

I'd say there is prob something going on, my son has secondary lactose intolerance - now to work out why!!!!;)
